Thanks for the video. You are right about the two communication wires, white (+) and blue (-). Successful in charging it again with a generic 42V charger and a 3V supply to the communication wires.

Word of caution, I believe the AliExpress carrier is stealing packages. I never got mine. The carrier reported the package was signed for. LOL. AliExpress refused to make this right. So much for their delivery guarantee.

have a Hailong 36v volt 13 AH battery. It does NOT have a USB port and is the old style 4 blade. My bike has a volt meter and today when I reinstalled it after recharging it, it shows ZERO volts and doesn't power on the bike. This battery has the charge indicator built in and it shows fully charged. I took it apart and and tested the voltage at the plug that powers the charge indicator status and it showed 41.4 volts. I have NO power at the output blades that feed/power the bike. What could be wrong? Bad BMS ??? a fuse I didnt see? any help would be greatly appreciated

Nice work, this method works for me too. I charged my battery to 36 volts then I put it back in the bike, the screen shows like 20%, then I fully charged it with the original charger to 100%. FYI- when the battery was dead, I was getting an error 4 and some time error 18 when I was trying to charge the battery on my bike with the original charger. also the LED light in the charger was changing from red to green to red to green) Thanks so much.

There is new new 6000mah 21700 from FAR EAST BATTERY called FEB 21700-6000, randomly bought from 3 retailers and all batteries are over5850mah under 1C discharge, quite impressive for me. I think you might want to test it?

thanks foir the review. cancelled my purchase for the opus. I need a 4 cell aa nimh analyzer/health check/resistence so I can tell what situation the cells are in. it MUST BE accurate. MUST! not this opus trash nonsense of being all over the place. unfortunately the Skyrc MC3000 is $160 with shipping/customs so that is way out of my budget. does panasonic have any analyzer chargers worth buying?

Hi, thanks for the video. Bike: Helkama Lounatuuli with similar battery in Finland. 3-4 years ago I got complaint that the battery won't charge. I followed your guide and got the battery charging and working again. Now 3-4 years later I got complaint that the battery is empty after short distance. I noticed it shows full charge shortly after plugging in the charger (voltage around 24 volts when it shows full!). The lights on battery would show 4/4 (full) but on the bike it was showing 1/4 (empty). I did the same reset again and plugged in charger and now its 1 out of 4 and it did charge to full and it works better.

I totally agree LG cells are junk. I had a bunch of HB2 batteries from Ryobi 18V and every single one of them are dead. Almost 2/3 of the LG cells I take apart from packs are not recoverable

good afternoon. I live in Brazil and I have a bike with an engine Shimano E 8000 and BT E 8035 battery, I would like to know if the dimensions of the BT E 8036 are the same, as I would like to exchange it or if possible send the length in centimeters. Thank you very much in advance.

Just to know. I repaired a lot of bosch battery power pack. Bosch used such cells (no fake) on some batery pack. The cells are dead at around 300 cycles. I dont recommand such cells at all

This is a common problem with the installation of this battery, not a problem with the type of LG cell. No-name Chinese cells will drop voltage; the charger will try to charge, the cell will try to resist, not increasing the voltage but overheating and catching fire. However, this company has already experienced this and they transitioned to branded cells. What can they choose that is popular in the EU? Panasonic, Samsung, or LG? At that time, there was mass production of M365 Xiaomi scooters, and the LG M26 is popular for its best price-to-performance ratio. But these cells have higher internal resistance than others. LG designed these cells to last long, even up to 2000 cycles, and we confirmed this through testing. However, when you have cells with slightly higher internal resistance, you need to consider the installation of the pack. You can't place the plus contact on the side; it must be in the middle of the first series. The nickel must also be thicker at this main contact point as the current will start from here. If you don't do this, the whole current will pass through the first cell. When that cell overheats, it will damage the second cell in that series, and then the rest of the series will fail. LG modeled this cell after the Panasonic B and Samsung 29E cells, which have similar capabilities. People feel safe as the cell maintains voltage during charging: the voltage increases, the BMS reacts, and turns the charger off-a perfect little game that we were unaware of. NO one Xiaomi M365 caught fire - not counting your neighbor who drives on heavy water and mud road. Respect for LG !

I don't think it has to be in the middle! The resistance difference from centre to the side is so little! Are you sure about this?

You really are one of the more unknowledgeable people in the community. If you see a cell at 3.6V after discharge it is entirely possible that it has high IR and it bounced back up to 3.6V after discharging down to whatever the minimum cutoff is. Without doing an IR test right then and there with a real IR meter or using a proper load. Temp is also another issue with the OPUS (don't get me wrong the OPUS is a flawed tester but your reasoning is entirely incorrect)
@TheBatteryDoctor
@TheBatteryDoctor Ай бұрын
Sorry but have tested more then 50000 cells on various machines, OPUS is a crap product, most likelly QC failed VOLTCRAFT devices meant for conrad being resold cheap for the EU marked. Why would conrad charge 51.99€ and you got it for half that on Aliexpress? Aliexpress, temu, bandgood and amazon is a dumping ground for QC failed products, sure you could get lucky but it most cases its just not worth it. A cell does not go from 2.75V to 3,6V. Dont know why so many belive Opus is "good", the only thing is really is is cheap. It does not not measure temp on cells from what i know, you need MC3000 for that, but it might turn of if the PCB/mosfets temp is hot and that why it failes?

I have just repaired my BionX 8.8ah battery and upgraded it to 12ah which will give a useful range of around 45 miles or 60 km. I agree that they are not easy to refurbish but it is possible if you are systematic. I bought a replacement ready built 48V 12ah battery pack through eBay which came with its own bms attached which is no use for the BionX system. I transferred the wiring across from my existing battery and bms including the four temperature sensors. To my horror it did not work and the battery refused to charge or work. After much investigation I discovered that I had damaged one of the four temperature sensors when removing it from the worn out battery pack and fitting it to the new battery pack. Fortunately I was able to obtain one of the last wiring harnesses for the bms balancing system which includes the four temperature sensors. This was replaced and now the battery charges perfectly. Happy days and my BionX system lives for another day with increased range.
