Keri Latimer is INCREDIBLE as an Individual - she was performing locally and I told her I would wait outside if she wanted to say Hi, … she came out Before the show, said “Hi (my name)!” I was STRUCK by Her - I said I couldn’t possibly…. She said “I put you on the list! Go!” 💕❤️🐈⬛ - I cried the whole show, tears of beauty this songstress is AMAZING as a songstress as well as an Individual. She “checks out” as a person, ADMIRABLE. Dr. Drew saw this movie and Admired the Music more than anything (on “Lovelines”)

I'm 61. Now when I walk upstairs, I use my (not a cane) walking stick... Also go for getting off the city metro, and getting out of cars. Especially after long drives. And getting out of my sister's truck. And going down stairs. Lol.

I wonder why this isn’t available on Spotify. It’s a shame this film never went down in cinematic history. A brief glimpse of genius which put Melissa Leo on the map and left us with a beautiful film but only if you were looking at the time and sort of knew of it. Apart from that, it’s a forgotten masterpiece.

Now, it's always such a rare occurrence (during these treacherous, unpredictable and unstable days of purportedly modern day live), when a gem of a film like this finds its rightful place among the grinding loop of mainstream movie commercialism. Imagine my surprise, then, during the 'dog days of summer' (July 2008) when I popped into my local art house cinema to escape the oppressive heat of the day (located in Malverne, New York), to see a first rate picture show like 'Frozen River.' And, in an instant, just as my body temperature was cooling down, the wintry, sub-zero climate of the movie itself, began to instantly define all of the worrisome elements that the way we live now so skillfully engenders. Moreover, the emotional 'give-and-take' that is delivered by Melissa Leo and Misty Upham (with incredible balance and emotion), from such a credible work by newcomer-Director Courtney Hunt, has set the bar to its highest threshold--- like nothing that I have seen in a very long time. Further, the constant struggle, fear and apparent paralysis that carries the movie through (to some inevitable rays of cleansing sunshine), had me, up until that point of brightness, in a nervous state, and wondering what would happen next, through every frame of this incredibly well made (and beautifully shot), film, which was filmed on location in Plattsburgh, New York (and by smallest budget, and under three months' time, no less)! Hence, the final tug at my full emotional range was gorgeously and emotionally delivered by the closing song, Ray's Echo----which forever continues to haunt my daily purpose---as well as my cosmic portent!

+Richard Iritano And, that is why it makes it so much harder to know that one of the movie's great actors, Misty Upham, has passed. In the end (as in the beginning), there is no greater mystery than how we were all born into this earthly coil---except, that is, how, when and where we will eventually leave it for another dimension. . . .May you rest in eternal peace, Ms. Upham---you are loved and missed, more than you could ever know. . .

Just finished watching Frozen River on one of the Indie channels and happened to have the good fortune of hearing and becoming drawn to this mesmerizingly melancholy song! It always makes my day when I have a song to add to my music library and to be introduced to an artist that I will definitely following in the future!

@@nathanarmstrong6630 A song can change one's perceptions like nothing else. The song itself frames the many complex 'twists and turns' of this great Indie film of life circumstances that are not merely ornamental-but RICH in COSMIC PORTENT! But where did the time go?

What a fine depiction of the struggle between survival and conscience-Melissa Leo and Misty Upham were born for their respective roles. Now, there is a distinctly quiet quality about this film that had me guessing what would happen next, as both women of struggle-and-circumstance appeared to be on the edge-Leo and Upham evoked a rare quality that left their audience with the feeling that they would be up for anything, and that they were capable of an extreme range of emotion and activity at any given moment. And, that is what I loved most about this 'indie,' the fact that I never knew what would unfold and hit me with NEXT, in this 2009 Acadamy Award nominated film by first time Director Courtney Hunt. Hence, the move is in my permanent collection of all time favorite films-and, don't even get me started on the movie's haunting theme song, ''Ray's Echo'-I listen to it daily in my car's superior Audi sound system, once in the morning, before my day starts, and once again when the day is done. The words and music serve as a constant, haunting reminder of what is precious in my life (and that life ITSELF is precious!), as well as what time has irreparably changed forever, whether I welcome it or not! Rest in eternal peace, Misty Upham-to live in hearts that we leave behind is to not die. . .
