I fondly recall watching GL with my Mother when it was 15 minutes each day (in the early 50s). Watched it whenever possible until the not so grand finale. Unfortunately it's demise was only another step toward TV flooded by so called reality, game, and insipid talk shows! Have to admit ALAN and ALEXANDRA were always my favorite disfunctional siblings!

Thanks for posting, I am more familiar with the show from the mid 90s onward, it is always fun to get a look at more of the show. I love that Ed and Maureen brought into continuity via their conversation the story of the original radio program The Guiding Light with Reverend Rutledge and the light in the window. How special!

After school I would catch AW from 2pm to 3pm then GL from 3pm to 4pm that means from 2-4pm I could not be bothered cbs really messed up guiding light by moving it to 10am in the morning just to have dr.Phil move to 3pm I mean really that annoying little boy. back in the 80s the soaps to watch were GL AW ATWT and even Ryan’s hope loving was good to. But I feel that guiding light went downhill when it got rid of Nola quint Hilary Jim Annabelle Tony Katie and Louie. I do agree with fans who all complained about the show turning into the Reva Shayne show.but despite its many mistakes GL along with those I mentioned were the best written soaps back in the good ole 80s. P.S the nick charecter back in the 90s was a dud lujack was the best charecter they should never had killed him off the show Beth and lujack rocked
