Ah, so my room specifically was because of the location of my room and just the way the flat was made. In this room it had a little corridor so that my room was almost like an L shape. But the majority of the rooms in JL/EC will be a rectangular or square shape. The room I took in second year which was a silver room with a lounge was a lot roomier because it was a square shaped room x

Hi! I’m supposed to be moving in here in September and every review I’ve read claims it is a “shit hole” and I am very worried. Do you agree with them?
@chloe-annbrown76994 жыл бұрын
I think that compared to Peel Park it isn't as good. However you do have to pay more if you live at peel park compared to living at John Lester and you can notice the difference. But personally I lived 2 years at John Lester and I've made some great memories there and I wouldn't have referred to it as a shithole. It's not perfect, but the staff are so lovely, you become friends with you straight away. Student accommodation is never going to be glamorous, and I think that if you walk into JL/EC expecting some like boujee thing then you will be disappointed. Like I said you get what you're paying for. But I very much enjoyed my stay there x

Hi I watchd your JL and EC video and I have loads of questions. I'm moving in there for my first year in September. I have read so many awful reviews about the accommodation and now i'm extremely worried especially as a lot of my course mates seem to be in Peel Park. Is it bad not having a lounge? I have heard its harder to make friends there and many people have described it as isolating too. Im just extremely worried about staying there and being away from everyone that's in Peel Park. Please help:(
@chloe-annbrown76995 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh honestly don't panic. I have made so many friends that live in peel park and who live in EC/JL. U don't need a lounge, most people when friends come round either chill in their kitchens or in their rooms. Now I won't lie, compared to peel park the flats are not very good. They are a lot smaller and not as clean and have less lounge living space. But i have made so many mates in JL by going out, hanging downstairs and playing pool with people, going to the gym etc. So it won't be harder to make friends, that is not true at all. Join a society, speak to a stranger etc that's the way to make friends, it's not about where Ur living. My and my friends decided to go back to JL for our second year and share a flat together, so its what u make of it x

Thank you 😊 I understand that, but all my course mates are in Peel Park and no one on my. Course seems to be in JL I’m just a little worried about that??

@@abigailcarrington6269 I'm doing the dance course. There's only 11 in my year, 4 are in peel, 1 in IQ, 3 commute in and 3 including me are in JL. From my experience you don't wanna be near Ur coursemates 24/7, it's nice to have that little bit of space. One of my best mates live in Delaney and cause peel is so close I just walk over and have sleepovers with him. Where u are living isn't that deep XX

@@abigailcarrington6269 I mean I'm a social butterfly. I have bumped into people I have spoken to im chats and have said hi. But I have my inner circle of friends and then my outer circle ya know? So u won't know who Ur inner circle is till u get there and get to know people

Hello I have an offer for Salford and hopefully start in September. I am studying nursing and I have heard if you are studying health you will be in John Lester and Eddie Coleman. I am 27 and I was wondering if its mixed ages or young ages that are living in these halls. Also, I noticed you will be scaring a bathroom, how did you find that?
@chloe-annbrown76995 жыл бұрын
So usually they try to pair these things together. For example older students live with older students, second and third years mix together etc. When u get a room u are able to find out who are in the other rooms. So u can contact them before u move in. The sharing of the bathroom is interesting, because everyone has different uni schedules u are most likely to use the bathroom at different times. But as long as u communicate with Ur flatmates then it's perfectly fine. X
