Having moved about a bit here in America I've seen all sorts of charity shops, mostly big brand names, but some mom&pop places as well. In my latest living arrangement there's only about four locally, but in one I found actual diorama supplies (turf and foliage) and they were really cheap so that was nice. To do a video like this, though, I'd have to go back three moves or drive over 300 miles to a big enough city to do some hopping at Goodwill or Savers/Value Village. Good video and nice to see around your neighborhood. Thanks!

Very nice build. I think you missed an oppertunity to add a simple window by rimming and not painting on of the bubble of the main body. Appart from that perfect terrain pices with a lot of story in it self

I had considered that. Decided against it.

My greatest ever charity shop find back in the day was the complete VHS collection of Batman Beyond (or was it Batman of the Future in the UK back then? Can't remember) and a Depeche Mode album who's name I forget now on vinyl. Can any of your viewers beat that bumper haul?

I've come back to watch this one another time because I think this was the first video of yours I saw (or very close to first) and I just love the design of this bot. It's truly unique but the design flows so well as well. It's hugely impressive.

Some people are saying you didn't really go to Wargames Hammershop for this video. Oh yeah? How come you're standing in it then? Hm??? People these days. Orange you glad people aren't making puns about your satsuma. i've now started singing the "art shiv" jingle when it appears, whether the jingle plays or not. Beaks are scary but they're soooo creepy once you add a tongue. Bravo sir. I found the gory parts extra gory today, always a plus. And bits like the Warhammer section are made all the more hilarious by your tremendously high production value videos. I am very happy to be a new subscriber and am now in a position to say i love all your videos Mr Does. I won't say it, but I could. (i'm joking, i love all your videos, mr does, they are a pleasure to watch)

Strawbridge mite? I bet he's a bit of a...Dick! Wheyyyyyyy I think the studio looks great! I long for a studio but first I need my own house, but at least I know what I'll use for inspiration if it ever happens. One of the things that impresses me about this studio is that you haven't fallen prey to the "stack it" trap, where you've got cupboards full of boxes that are six feet deep. Everything's immediately accessible, so you don't have to move 20 boxes out of the way to get to one at the back. Living the dream, Dan!

I'm three minutes in and I've had to pause twice to breathe for that "C word makes me retch" gag xD I too believe in simple things like cakes. I fear may be a cake extremist in fact. Also, I knew that Figgy and Yule would end up together, because come on, it's a Ballmark film, but that kiss was everything I hoped it would be. I hope Beth Does is okay after hitting her head, and I hope that mountain of presents didn't hurt too much (or was that more acting? I hope it was acting). Genuinely didn't expect that twist at the end! What a masterpiece! I love santatron. I want a santatron to put on the tree! We shall have to see what bits and pieces i can scrounge together.

The multitude of tiny details on this are fantastic! It's a spectacular build anyway but with the fences, and the crypt skulls, it's layer upon layer of details that really draw the eye. I really love this build. The turret that turns while the roof doesn't? Genius!

I think we've found the winner for the next Academy Award for best actress, first of all. Secondly, I am always a fan of slug builds. Slugs and snails. Give that slug a hug, that's what I always say. I mean, bring tissues obviously, but fabulous build as always! And thirdly I also had tiny serial killer handwriting when I was in school! My despairing teachers told me to make it bigger but it took three times as long to do so. I handed in half the work and got twice the praise! If only that had carried over to the rest of my life. *sobbing*

Oh you gave me quite a fright there. I saw the thumbnail clicked on it and said Oh shit what happened to Bill did he have a friggin stroke or something? Was a relief to see it was you Dan. Ahhh I'd want the seagull head for crafting can never have enough of those in a box sitting around.

I do have studio envy. That’s a great desk size/orientation for making. Love the little tour of fun. I love the feeling of organization and tidiness before it’s used and virtually will never look this pristine again. Also this size isn’t bad, it’s got a cave feel (which I love) but also has a window for that sweet natural light when you want it!
@DragonBoi37894 күн бұрын
Idea for a next one of these: Figure out a build you want to make, then go charity shopping for the bits. You can only work with what you find from that day's shopping for the scratch build. Hard mode would mean you can also only use adhesives, paints, maybe even tools that you find in the shops.
@KerriGilpin4 күн бұрын
In addition to the sympathetic burger disappointment and second-hand awkwardness I experienced in this video, feel like I also smelled a lot of old womens’ perfumes, lots of sweat, heard more than one terrible song at an unnecessary volume, and knocked at least 1 joint (elbow, knee) into something that made me panic. There’s also that unnamed smell that clothes get when no one has wanted them for over 25 years, when you smell it you know.

Aaaa! Please Dan! I grew up in yorkshire and i'm getting schooldays-flashbacks. Nice to know I'm not the only P*ssy Pants Dan, although I always thought it was strange of them to call me that because my name isn't Dan! Well who knows what goes on inside the minds of northern bullies anyway. Spectacular barn, however - I've only ever scored brick shapes into flat craft foam to be applied to a model like 70s flock wallpaper; anyone who makes their own bricks and sticks them on one by one gets my vote!

Official Dan Does Lore!! Alongside music of excellent taste. I thought it sounded a lot like Green Onions and couldn't remember who Green Onions was by and so I looked to find out what your music was and it has "booker" in the title. Of course Green Onions was Booker T and the MGs! Nice to know I understood that musical reference. Nobody asked the question I thought of which was what is your personal greatest phobia and or weakness and is the candybar your only true contactable nemesis. No reason! Just, y'know. For funsies!
