I don't think going cashless is for employee safety, if a store gets held up and the employee hands over the money, they will probably be fine. In the case that the store is cashless however, the empty handed robber may get angry and violent.
@Kelpie-sb5bi7 сағат бұрын
It’s also about taking independence away from the private person, if you have all your money in a credit card account it’s easier for the goverment to track your transactions and to exert control over your funds via the credit card and payment processing companies. We’ve already seen companies like mastercard, visa and paypal try to push politics via these means.

It's the big cities that are the lost causes on the West Coast in general. Portland is a mess, Seattle is somehow even worse than Portland. The stores going cashless is so sad, this slow drip of entering a cashless society has introduced massive problems worldwide because the credit card companies try to act like the government with terrible consequences because of no checks and balances.
@Castitalus10 сағат бұрын

I know there are a lot of good people in CA, a good buddy from college among them, but I cannot count the number of times I've heard those who move referred to as "locusts." Based Airi, for sure 🐺
@Kelpie-sb5bi7 сағат бұрын
It’s the ”major cosmopolitan cities” which are the problem. You can see this in elections where the entire state except for major cities vote a certain way. It’s the people from places like Scatfrancisco who rightfully deserve the ”locust” moniker. They will destroy a city with horrible and reprehensible policies and then leave for another better functioning city in another state and try to introduce the very same policies which destroyed the last city, eventually leaving again once they’ve ruined another city and state.

The problem with taking advice from the people who ruined the economy, supported and passed ruinous policies and laws, and controlled the country for decades and ran it into the ground and destroyed the family and their own finances is that it’d hard to trust their judgement.

California is like 30 years over do for major transportation reform. Like HSR should have been in the 90's not now.
@dragonknightleader19 сағат бұрын
But the problem with HSR is that it's the most Bridge to Nowhere graft in America. Billions of dollars every year for something that will never be built ever.
@YesntIAmIce6 сағат бұрын
@@dragonknightleader1 It really isn't. The problem is California's regulations for the environment are some of the strictest. Japan is most similar to California geography wise (Mountains with valleys), and with that, really dense urban communities with suburbs. California should have it, solely to contact LA to San Fran Bay via In-land Empire. HSR when planned for major population centers works fantastically. Just look at France.

BTW Gavin Newsom is only now signing legislation to get rid of homeless encampments in CA because he is sweeping for Dems and Kamala Harris since she is from CA. The state is still a sh-hole (I grew up in CA and have lived there off and on since I needed to return to care for family). Weather is incredible near the coast; the laws, policies, and corruption are some of the worst in the nation. People don't understand how stupid it is - I went to the store and a fist-sized artichoke was $4.00. I nearly lost my mind. I live in a more countryside area too. Good apples in the Bay Area cost $3-4/lbs.

Late Stage Capitalism and Communism effectively end in the same thing. A hyper powerful, ludicrously wealthy elite class and millions of absolute dependents. The only difference is that in communism the elite is found in the government bureaucracy, while in Late Stage Capitalism the elite is found in a strange alliance between the private sector and academia. Both are abject dogshit for the vast majority of humanity and sap the human soul dry in a generation or two. As Uncle Ted made clear Industrial Society and its consequences have been a disaster for humanity. No matter how materially wealthy or comfortable you are if you’re spiritually poor it’s worth nothing.

Neoliberalism has lost all meaning at this point. In what way is California neoliberal? Have you seen the amount of market restrictions they put in place there?! Some of the most fucked zoning laws in the country. California literally couldn't be a worse example of neoliberalism. There is simply very few things that is neoliberal about California at all; calling it neoliberal only makes sense if you are using it as a nonsensical pejorative buzzword.
