I used to be the best child everyone dream for.. the best in education and extracurriculars till my high school.. i want to take CS major for my 11th.. but, my parents and teachers forced me to take Biology I didn't study well and ended up with 81.83% (I had the lowest score in my whole friend circle and neighbourhood) I want to do CSE. I wrote entrance exam but, didn't get admission for CSE in the public college near my home (I could take Engineering in other majors, but I should want CS) due to low high school marks even I had better entrance exam score.. My parents can't afford private college and they didn't allowed me to attend the public college far from home.. I want to drop I yr and prepare for JEE entrance.. But, they forced me to take bsc maths in a local college near home.. I didn't study anything in the 1,2 yrs of my college due to stress and trying to crack entrance exams (I didn't even know how I passed out). During my 2nd yr I got into the list of some prestigious unis in my country through an entrance exam. But, parents didn't allow me to took admission... Now, I graduated with 2.62 gpa.. I always want to do my master's at ivy league... I don't know what I do with my low gpa and how could I improve my profile for that....I don't know which interships, exams, extra courses and other stuffs should I take to cover my low gpa.. I want to take gre, toefl.. but, I couldn't even afford the exam fee 😂 Someone mocked me like I couldn't even study hard but expectations are high... I don't know what I do in life now... My dreams are fading.. I want to do ms in data science and AI with scholarship and do something big... I couldn't even afford private college 😂😂 I'm really confused, stressed, scared and disappointed.. I was used to be the top student in both education and extracurriculars in my school days and now I ended up with nothing...

@huagan2657
@huagan2657 26 күн бұрын

That was a very WISE and accurate summation of the PROBLEMS that arise from getting into some of the most competitive colleges. The college might be called a "Dream School" in theory but in reality such schools can become DREAM KILLERS, when the competitive pressures become too much for very talented students that could THRIVE in less competitive institutions.

What do you think of the Gini coefficient? Share your thoughts below. Also, here are some questions for further reflection. Feel free to share your answers. Let's discuss! 1) Would the most equal country in the world have a high or low Gini coefficient? What country do you think that is? What might explain that country's relative equality? 2) Can you think of any limitations of the Gini coefficient as a measure of inequality? 3) Is it possible for two countries to have the same Gini coefficient but different levels of economic well-being? How could this occur? Give an example. As always, happy studying. 📚 📈 -Dr. R.J.

It's not hard for "diversity" students. Harvard bends over backwards to lower the standards for them. Everyone now realizes that those degrees aren't the same as those who had to enter and graduate on merit alone.

I entered a school as one of the 500 freshmen. Every semester large chunks of my batchmates fail to reach the required GPA and they get booted out. Only 10 of us reached senior year after four years. The amount of anxiety I experienced every day in worrying that my head could be next on the chopping block had a profound effect on me decades later. I suffer PTSD wherein until this day, I have a recurring dream of the traumatic experience I went through for four years.

While UIUC is good, especially for CS, UIUC's programs simply do not match to Northwestern's. Northwestern has Kellogg, the #1 ranked MBA program tied w/ Booth, stronger alumni, and in-general better programs. However, UIUC does blow Northwestern out of the water for CS.
