Nope, because it was a “backyard boogie”. He has a paint booth, the materials, and everything to get the job done. I even saw other vehicles that he painted, and they all looked good, but I didn’t know that my car would start doing this after less than a year of having it painted. I gave him 4 or 5 of my cars in that short amount of time, and they all started doing this. He said to let him give it another try, but I promised myself never again. Hard to find reliable painters that aren’t trying to tax you crazy, and I refuse to go the route of getting a wrap cuz it just don’t hit the same. Good luck with that. Seems like we all are in the same journey. Lol

I can work on them, but sometimes you can only do soo much before you have to take it to a shop because of the machinery that shops have, and I have nooo idea on the proper steps or materials required to paint a whole vehicle. She never used the other steps anyways, so she wanted the new ones to make the Jeep look more sleek. It’s her Jeep, so it’s her choice of what she wants to do with it. It is what it is.

It’s frustrating though, cuz it seems like sooo many people can build nice cars and go to the right shops, but when it’s your turn to do it, it doesn’t workout or some shop is trying to hustle you for your money and do shitty work. Plus, you can only do soo much yourself before you need a machine shop to do the rest. Shit sucks.

True, but the shop is way down in San Pedro. I can take my ass down there consistently because of distance and traffic. It’s hard to find a good and legit shop close to home that has reliable workers. I hear what you’re saying though. I’m trying my best to stop myself from getting active!

Couple things. The kicker L7’s are a good introductory sub for those who want some upgraded bass in their ride, but those are nowhere near in the same class as the ZV5 12’s. It’s not even close!!! The first box was built for looks to also go with the sound, but the second box built for the ZV5’s is built to look clean, but more than anything, built to handle the sound pressure, power, and violent movement that the sub produces! And not only has the sound quality improved, but the power handling and the deepness was of the bass is a day and night difference. Even with the whole car being filled with sound deadener, there is some rattling that just can’t be avoided, but another box will be custom built and installed to go through the middle armrest depending on how long the port needs to be (she has kids that also ride in her car, so the armrest may need to go up sometimes for the seat to have a body sitting there). Plus, she now has a little more trunk room than she did before. Look up any videos on the ZV5 subwoofers by Sundown, and I’m sure you will retract your statement. You don't really say what specific model in the video, just L7. Maybe you meant an L7S or L7R? If it was one of those, then yeah, those are more intermediary and I misunderstood which L7 you were talking about. My bad. From what I understand the zv5 is a dedicated SPL sub that's sacrificed some of it's sound quality in exchange for more output. Was that your goal, just to be louder? If so, then maybe it's capable of being louder? I don't know. I don't really understand the "bass head" mentality of wanting to be louder at the expense of everything else. I was not thinking that you guys were bass heads. I'm an SQ guy, so thats my way of thinking. That original box with a pair of L7 Q's would be ideal in my opinion. It would definitely be louder than that single zv5 and you'd still have great sound quality. Anyway it's just my opinion. I'm glad you guys like the new setup and consider it an upgrade. Which it may be if the old subs were a lower level L7. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone. Take care.
