Excellent topic man! It's been the only thing holding me back from going to VR. I LOVE the silicone dots comment. I have a computer that can support VR, but I've always have the same question, how do I "see" the outside world? A lot of solutions are on the way, but I'm going to hold off perhaps another year or two. Thanks for posting this. I really appreciate it!

I'm an old flight simmer from the beginning of flight sims on computers, and even though having physical cockpits and stuff is nice, there is still a disconnect because you are looking at a screen. being IN the cockpit and using your virtual hands to manipulate it is just a whole other level that you can't get anywhere else. VTOL VR is my favorite flight sim. It's a good mix of serious realism and ease of use. It's no DCS, but it's also no Ace Combat Arcade shit either .

Simplified realism. All the principles are there, but presented in an easy to understand interface. The game still has a steep learning curve if you want to use it to its maximum potential though, that’s what I love about it. I have hundreds of hours in the game and I still haven’t taken the time to adequately learn jamming, how to use any of the drones, buddy lasing or how to fly the damn helicopter. 😂

Sadly its basically the same thing without the god rays presented by the crap Fresnel lenses. In fact its actually worse than the G2 because it doesnt have a HDMI connector. The Meta Quest 3 is a JOKE. I should have known better than to trust Phuckerberg. Its going back and going to try the Pimax. The Q3 should sell for $99 not $500. Then get this, you have to pay a third party to get it to work adequately.

Brother, could you PLEASE make a video that will teach a NOOB like myself to understand and speak to and as ATC? I enter those lobbies sometimes and i would love to participate but i have no idea how to start getting into it at all.. The simplest tutorials i've found are still too complicated for me (and many other newbies out there i presume) and require at least a little bit of previous knowledge to understand.

What a crock of s3*t!!! I would have never bought the Reverb g2 if I had know that I would only have it for a few years. I cannot afford 500 dollars for a Quest 3. This "F"ing sucks! I have Microsoft for screwing their customers.

I hear you. Now something to consider and might be worth me mentioning in a video this tech is developing fast, changes are coming in hot and it’s a tough market for companies to stay up in. Even large ones cut their losses to save when they can. Used Vr often ends up being a great bang for the buck

Been playing a lot of VTOL lately unfortunately DCS is so time consuming I like that I don’t have to setup a stick head tracking pedals. It’s genuinely nice just need to boot up the pc and put the headset on and go

Hey if you wanna have better post processing graphics on vtol vr too try installing reshade don't enable open xr in the setup menu just use direct x 10/11/12 select whatever you want for the fx section but make sure you get something with bloom that made the biggest visual improvement for me and once vtol is open go to your desktop and press the home key to open reshade menu

I bought a Meta-Oculus Rift S one year before they dropped their support of this product. The Rift S worked well until I updated my computer. Now two years later and after a year of Meta stupid suggestions for getting my Rift S working again, it's still not working. I have a $400 paper weight that Meta refuses to fix even though they say my new computer should not be a problem. I cannot recommend buying any Meta products due to their lack of customer service and having a chance of the same dropping of older products support. Meta basically has no customer service and only lip service!

Great video! I am seriously considering getting this to replace my CP Flight FCU as I use only MSFS with a DIY home cockpit, but CP Flight still haven’t got theirs working properly with the Fenix. I am a real A320 F/O and I think with the full glareshield setup, this WinWing unit it will be epic! - if nothing else; because it works with the Fenix out of the box. Their up coming pedestal panels look great too

I’m going to say it’s very similar to the M3, almost identical but better. Now my concern for you is that you didn’t like it. A few things to note, the battery is heavier here and this helps balance the with more by having more weight on the back of your head. Another key thing to know, if you have your M3, wear it more like a halo, like a crown. This is critical in having this type of headset fit well. That means, the back of the head strap should be on the lower back of your head, and the other top on the front TOP. Does that make sense? That’s key for these type of headsets. Try that adjustment , make it snug but not too tight, and if that’s a comfortable fit, then upgrade. Otherwise I had for you to go this route and it be just as bad as your first experience. As you see through the comments, this was a great product, not just my opinion. Others feel the same, but I fully understand if you don’t like the halo head strap it’s definitely something to consider twice before deciding, or keep the boxes and return it if it isn’t for you.

Thx for the answer but i tried it all for weeks , i changed back and forth to stock strap but its to bulky and heavy for me. Mb there is coming a kind of very light helmet , thats completly fits the entire top of the had, like a basecap .

@@privateklingel I hear you. This is such a personal decision and while one size fits most, I know this isnt perfect for everyone. I have used 17+ VR headsets all the way back to 2013, and I find this to be pretty comfortable for long gameplay. I am bald so maybe that smooth surface helps haha. Hopefully you find the right solution for you! If you do, let me know!

You do not need fancy hardware like a joystick, but you need fancy hardware like a VR headset... Also you need to not puke while wearing one so there's that too... This really isn't a matter of choice for most people.

What did you mean with not for msfs? Is it that the fps is less? The. Latency is more? Or that the visuals are not BETTER than the g2? Are the visuals the same as the g2 with msfs? I couldn’t really comprehend that from your video. Also has the situation changed by now? Because it’s now 8 months ago.

@@faziolifairmont8125 I am overdue for an update video. In short, the Quest 3 is much better and my experience recently has been great. For what it is, this is a great headset, WiFi 6 is the best option with virtual desktop and the better the GPU the better the experience.

Definitely up for the Boeing setup, but I might try the model you just reviewed for the rare times I fly Airbus. From UK here. I wonder if it will eventually be supported by Spad Next as I have my instruments on a secondary PC..

I like that I don't need to set up my HOTAS or worry about bindings to fly. I bought a nice sim rig for racing but even the minor barrier of getting into VR then getting into the rig is enough for me to just not for some reason. VTOL lets me just boot straight in

Is it possible to hold a switch in VR (using mouse) while looking away? In Flight Sim, on the Saab, the start switch is spring loaded so I have to keep holding it while looking at the instruments during startup. The problem is that as soon as I look away, I loose the start switch as my mouse cursor automatically goes back into my field of view. How to keep holding the switch while looking at other things?

Hmm, yeah I think it works but also your right I think as you look away it might disconnect. I can’t remember now and have to try it lol. One option would be is to maybe set that specific switch to an actual binding on a button if you can.
