"No Foil kite is 100% relaunchable", the FS Hybrid is nearly 100% relaunchable. The only time I haven't been able to relaunch it is when there's less than 4 knots of wind. It will relaunch and drift launch in lighter wind than an LEI kite. It's so relaunchable that I drift launch FS Hybrid all the time (both deep water and shallow water).

Good to know that the Hybrid is so relaunchable 🙂

would you pick a wet suit hat that covered your ears better? and is there a market for dry suis that are completely adjustable? as in fitting for all sizes.

Blow below the paper it will still lift :). but the speed below is higher :). It is all about the angle of attack and changing the location of fluid. Water pushed down so the wing pushed up. Great explanation

you could also use a juice dlab 13 or 15 m or a code cero from north or something similar with way less stress..

The reason planes can fly upside down is because they change their angle of attack, aka the angle with which the wing is oriented with the flow of air. A high angle of attack increases drag, but also increases lift. This is in line with Newton's 3rd law and conservation of momentum.

Tore a hamstring badly (semi-tendinosis) 2 years ago in Dakhla on a twin tip. Now strapless on a surfboard. Never looked back. Glad you are recovering well! Suring at CityWave has helped me a lot with technique.

Wrong! If you take a non curved foil with with a classic wing design and zero angel of attack it will lift due to pressure difference. And yes, the air or fluid will then move downwards, but this is a result, not the cause.

Pansh is a fraud! Don't buy it. Hear my story: I purchased a kite 15m Kestrel Pansh, 4 different lines broke after only 50 hours of riding it. The kite never fell to the water, and all broke in the air. Each line on a different day. I emailed them to send me new lines and said that I am willing to pay for it (even though it wasn't my fault), they ignored my email. I complained about it in the Pansh group in Kestrel, being low quality kite. Then I emailed them again with the screenshot of FB group of my complain, finally they answered really rude: "There is no problem with the white bridle. It won't break itself. Your statement is incorrect. We have never heard of anyone breaking the A bridles in the world, so we cannot send you the A bridles. This is the official and final response, and we will not reply to your question again. Thank you for your understanding. Rose Zhang " Then I made another purchase, because it was cheap but they terminated my account and banned me from the FB group. They refuse to refund my money saying I hurt their company. I opened a case on Paypal have to wait now 10 days and if not will ask my credit card company to reverse the transaction. Just wanted to warn you all from this shity company, with 0 support, shity quality kites, and committing frauds online.

I got 2 injuried in 3 months windsurfing. Im intermediate and dont do tricks. 1 time my foot got stuck between the mast and board. This made me unable to walk for 2 days, the 3rd day I was back surfing. The 2nd time I fell at high speed where the sail went 1 direction, my body another, while still being hooked, the harness metal bar turned on my rib and pushed into it. The first few days couldnt sleep on that side. Its 3rd week now and still hurting, tho much less.

The lift of an upside down wing is created the same way as a right side up wing, explained by Bernoulii's Principle. A wing with a zero angle of attach has a stagnation point (the point where air is divided to go either top or bottom) close to the tip of the leading edge. As angle of attack increases, the stagnation point moves down and backwards. This make the air travel further, on top, even on an upside down wing. Not all planes can fly upside down. The require sufficient power to weight ratios, which many planes do not have. RC planes don't count, since their power to weight ratio is extrememly high. Many can hover straight vertically without stalling.

If I take a rock, with a flat surface and drop it on water, the rock will bounce before sinking? Time is a factor with lift? With the rock the water doesn't move out of the way faster than the rock applies the force, allowing the rock to bounce? Am I right?

Displacement of Air, Displacement of water, with gravity
@MJBAKANemoStrong
@MJBAKANemoStrong Ай бұрын
My point is, a force is applied to the Air, the Air moves under and over the wing, though under the wing a downward force is applied; the wing leaves the air faster than the air is displaced? Does that contribute to Lift?
@MJBAKANemoStrong
@MJBAKANemoStrong Ай бұрын
There is Water under the water, and Air under Air; if there was nothing underneath, there would be no gravity, and there would be no lift.

Your statement "it is not clear why wings generate lift" is true, if and only if there is only one method creating lift. But as you mention, there are more than one mechanisms. When planes fly in upright (normal) configuration, the wings generate lift by Bernoullis principal, upside down they create lift using particle kinetic by flying at a significant higher angle of attack. You can see it in any biplane airshow video on youtube.

One question remains, though: If you are out in a leaking drysuit, does the dry suit mitigate the cold water - that is, when the cold water is in the suit long enough for your body heat to warm the water a little - does the dry suit provide insulation?? For that, you'd have to stay in the water with the filled drysuit for a half hour or more to see if it warms up. It's not going to drown you and assuming you have a PFD on the outside, you can keep your head above water for a very long time - but does it warm up at all??

I don't blame you for not going back to TT boards. Most TT boards are heavy press-out planks designed for maximum profit. Good as spraytrays and jumping - what you can do with a piece of plywood. I build bidirectional hydrodynamic platforms for extreme kite control. Maybe coming soon.

Great video.. I want to use my wetsuit when fishing in river during cold weather, so my question is how do I merge the wetsuit to wading boots. I assume I put the bottom of the wetsuit pants into neoprene booties or waterproof socks that then go into the wading boots. How do I use a wetsuit with wading boots and keep water out of the boots in cold weather? Thanks!!
