Brown-in, or oven bags will do the same thing in your indoor electric or gas oven. Cook the meat for a few hours, and add potato cubes, carrots, and celery for the last hour. No need for expensive spices - salt and pepper is all that's needed.

That is a tasty burger! Looks great. One advantage to grinding your own it, you can more safely cook a medium rare burger if you like them that way. I have also seen that a lot of people mix the meat a little more to start the protein extraction so it holds together better. Not like mixing sausage though. Keep up the great content sir!

You never put the meat on the grill until your charcoal has developed some ash. Each chunk/briquette should be at least one quarter white from ash and should have visibly glowing parts if you blow on it. If you put the meat on too quickly, it will absorb undesirable tastes from a concentration of unburned wood gasses.
