Re: Crowd crush at My Chemical Romance shows: I’ve been blessed enough to go to 5 MCR shows! 3 at the LA forum, 2 at larger music festivals. I was in the pit for the 1st night of the LA Forum shows. Did not get crushed. Definitely dealt with some pushing and shoving though. BUT at Riot Fest, there was major crowd crush. Gerard was aware of it, and stopped in between every song to make the crowd calm down and remind them to back up, not push/shove, etc. It got so bad that actually the whole band left the stage mid song and their MANAGER came out and said the show wasn’t continuing until the crowd backed up. It was bad. I was fortunate enough to be in the ADA section far back, but people were in a CONSTANT stream of leaving the pit area. People had been waiting all day in the hot sun to see MCR. It was crazy. Couple times someone was crowd surfed into the ADA section to get help. MCR also makes it a point to put up before their shows signs of “IF SOMEONE FALLS, YOU PICK THEM UP” on their screens. At When We Were Young (WWWY), there were no major issues to my knowledge. Riot fest - the pit was SUPER bad. Like no one came out of that pit 100% okay.
