This was a marvelous moment for all Australians, a great memory of Cathy Freeman's composure under immense pressure. It brings tears to see it again... When she pointed out how historically significant an event it was, she spoke volumes. Thank you for uploading this video... it's interesting to see the American commentary.

They faded out from the live picture at 21:54 video time, which is roughly 9:02:24 EDT, approximately 35 seconds prior to the second impact. In other words, they would be witnessing the second impact at 22:29 video time. They missed it while in the finance report, not in the commercial break. When they finished the report at 23:14 video time, you can see the monitor behind the anchor was showing a closer look of the impact from WCBS Chopper 880. Super Channel RULED!!! I remember getting them in my cable TV feed. Got me hooked on 'Allo 'Allo and a slew of other British comedies. Also the new Twilight Zone episodes. And didn't Linda de Mol host the Coca Cola Eurochart there? I think I still have snippets of it on tape. Oh man, the memories... 😋

Current WR is nearly 8 seconds better than the time swum this particular night, now sitting at 3:27.96. That crazy back end swim by Jodie Henry that had the commentators gushing was 53.2 seconds. The worst split for the new WR was 52.3 seconds and the best was 51.7 seconds. I wonder how fast they will be in 20 years time??
