Hi i have same bias tape maker. May I know the exact size of the fabric you cut not the bias size? Thank you 😊
@Sewemmydesigns3 күн бұрын
Hey there! Sure, so the measurements are also at timestamp 0:26 at the beginning of the video as the kit actually includes suggested measurements. I used for the 1 inch maker, 1 15/16 inch wide fabric, for the 3/4 inch maker 1 3/8 inch wide fabric, for the 1/2 inch maker I used 15/16 inch, and then for the 1/4 inch I used 1/2 inch. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@@OfficialLadyDarkSky oh no!! I struggled on mine as well (I have a singer) and I ended up having to fully loosen both screws and then put both needles in. I have no idea why that worked as I can’t find anything going into detail about replacing the needles

@@f.z.m2000 I have a singer serger and did use singer needles, but they were listed as working with other brands as well. I would say to double check with your manual, and if it doesn’t list needing specific needles then those would most likely work!

Where can I get the pattern for the cat quilt please
@Sewemmydesigns27 күн бұрын
It was a quilt panel that I got from a local fabric store! The name of the quilt panel is Red No Ordinary Cats, and then I cut up the quilt block panels to make my own design. I tried to find it online, but could only find some people reselling some of the fabric. Here’s an example though: www.etsy.com/listing/1164684928/hearts-toss-no-ordinary-cats-collection?gpla=1&gao=1&&CjwKCAjw-O6zBhASEiwAOHeGxbXBrcPvdG-KIYaOxgETqQ8CjK5u4HeeSHflAuPWSPMLW3Z1g4XmnxoCFvUQAvD_BwE_k_&gad_source=4&gbraid=0AAAAADtcfRK3g0TKgGr8uRoL0ura4fdhj&gclid=CjwKCAjw-O6zBhASEiwAOHeGxbXBrcPvdG-KIYaOxgETqQ8CjK5u4HeeSHflAuPWSPMLW3Z1g4XmnxoCFvUQAvD_BwE I do have a video up for the cat block though if you want to try to make that! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n9tjrcZzzryUf4k.htmlsi=N6nLiqX4jWCzoRKA

@Sewemmydesigns29 күн бұрын
I opted to go with a size 10. I was between sizes for what the pattern recommended with one measurement being a size 8 and the other a 12. I found the 10 worked perfectly though. When I shop at the store I'm normally a US size 2-4, so there is definitely a difference between the pattern sizing and what you would buy

Yeah it can be tricky! Once you have your fabric pre-folded to the rolled hem you want to get that fold into the curve on the presser foot. I find having some of the pre-folded hem before and after the presser foot helps then once it’s in place immediately put the presser foot down to hold it! Let me know if that helps!

Can you explain/show how to put/make pants on her with a pole in one leg? Thank you
@SewemmydesignsАй бұрын
Definitely! I made a short to hopefully answer your question as well, but basically I take the entire thing out of the base (including the pole), put clothes on her, then put her back onto the base. I have to dress her around the pole. It’s a little bit of a process, and I can see why having a dress form where it is secured hanging instead of how this one is on the pole would be easier for changing. I've only ever seen those labeled as "appliqué foot" in the past, probably because they're usually not slick enough to use for free-motion embroidery. 🤔
@SewemmydesignsАй бұрын
Interesting! Yeah the label for mine was open toe embroidery foot which was why I labeled it that! Definitely something to look into though! I also saw an instagram reel yesterday where someone used this exact foot for free motion embroidery…so I’m going to be investigating that too😂
@KatieCottinghamАй бұрын
I think the term you were looking for is "shank buttons," which depending on the size and material, can be used for strictly decorative purposes or for heavy duty uses like winter coats. The biggest difference is in how you sew them on and if/how much you need to reinforce your stitches with wraps for a thread shank.
@KatieCottinghamАй бұрын
Was it really necessary to cut down though? It looks thin enough that it could've folded without cutting and then been a far more useful handkerchief size. I personally agree with the mentality that everyone should keep one on hand because they really are perfect for dozens of random emergencies and it shows you think about being prepared and caring for others in your daily life.
@SewemmydesignsАй бұрын
Great question! Most pocket squares are between 10-17 inches with silkier ones being on the larger size. This was more of a cotton feel and to get the folding right I opted to make it smaller. I’m also planning to reuse the rest of the scarf for a matching jewelry pouch for myself so it won’t go to waste. I think it all depended on how precise you want your pocket square to be!
