I wonder, is there possibility to use two part epoxy resin for coating 3D objects such as flowers when working in thin layers?
@madebymellyjewelry18 күн бұрын
@@sabinalutterova1520 hi 👋 Ya know, that's a good question, but I don't think you could. I just won't set up quickly enough & I think most of it would just run off even if it's in really thin layers. Ive never tried it though, so I can't say for sure. I just resin as an accent for my polymer clay, which is my primary art medium. Some of the actual resin artists might have tried this, but I don't know. It would be a cool experiment for sure! 😃

im using uv nail gel on my 3d flowers in thin coats, only problem is an even cure like i need to turn my flowers in all directions and it takes a long time, literally a couple of hours!! i only have a small uv nail lamp atm though.
@madebymellyjewelry2 сағат бұрын
@@leetau8429 yes, it does take forever when you have to keep moving a piece. Have you tried putting a mirror underneath your lamp? That will reflect the light back up & will cure places that the light can't reach from the top 😁

Hi there, great tute.. a question….i did a Sutton d Ice on a background but then wondered, how should I finish the clay behind the Sutton slice?shouldehat brand texture sheets are a big pattern and deep cut. Any recimendations?
@madebymellyjewelry28 күн бұрын
@@jilllloyd-jones624 hey Jill. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm not sure that I understand your question...but I think you're asking what texture sheets I recommend. If so, I haven't tried a ton of them. I know that the Lisa Pavelka brand is great for sutton slice. She's actually the person that invited the technique. The Sculpey ones (like I used are OK, but they're a bit harder to use. I wouldn't recommend those to someone beginning the technique. I think probably Cool Tools would be a good brand, but I've never actually tried them. I hope that answers your question. If not, just let me know. Just a hint as a fellow show booth person. MAKE A CAR PACKING LIST with TWO columns for check marks, one for packing up the car, and one for repacking the car to make sure you don't forget anything coming or going. Pack the day before and make sure to use your list, especially when packing up to go home, since you will be exhausted and have fried brains after a full day or two of shows.
@madebymellyjewelryАй бұрын
Oh, I leave EVERYTHING packed, except for my jewelry & electronics that have to be changed. Everything else stays in my van all through show season.
