I spent the first 7 years of my life in Norfolk! My brother went to that school (used to be called Freeman-Centennial Elementary School). We moved before I could go there, so i went to H. Olive Day School for Preschool and Kindergarten. I play the flute too! I now live in Northern Virginia near DC. I miss Mass everyday!

I can't believe I'm watching this production now. I'm 82 and this was a fabulous trip back through my elementary school days and a life I have missed ever since leaving Plainville. Of course a lot of your memories have been about King Phillip High but I never went to that school so the stories about Plainville and the old school were still sharp in my mind. One thing that surprised me was that nobody mentioned Mrs. Grant who taught 4th grade in the basement classroom that Ernie mentioned. I also remember going to the new elementary school when it first opened and I was in the 5th grade. Guess who taught that class? Mrs. Beatrice Wood that's who. That was the year I got paddled by Mrs. Grant who was Principal at the time and Mrs. Wood who instigated the punishment looked on as witness. Naturally I have no idea of what I did wrong but it had to be pretty serious to get paddled. Later, in the 7t grade I was whisked off to boarding school in Manlius, New York and never went back to Plainville until 1965 when I stopped there to visit Don's Diner one day just to say hello. I did see Steve Shepherdson that day but he was the only old classmate who was around at the time. To this day if asked where I'm from I always reply; "Plainville, Mass" but few people have ever heard of it. Thanks to you all who had a hand making this documentary and bring back great memories to and old member of the Class of 59. PS, Hi Gracie. You look great and hope you and everyone are well.Norm.

Great interview. Thundertrain was one of the best Boston bands along with Willie Alexander/Boom Boom band. Traveled from Maine to Boston for the awesome club scene. The Ratt/ The Club in Cambridge/ Cantones/ The Paradise. All excellent live venues. Back when music was great.

Ask youself why you live in Norfolk ?

They want to change Norfolk ! They want big stores downtown so multifamily housing can walk to stores ! Norfolk will change drastically ! MAPC will do as they want !

Anything the town does will be determined by the metropolitan area planning council. They want a big food store and more commercial buildings downtown Norfolk so the multifamily housing going in will be able to walk to get their provisions. They WILL do this no matter what we as residents want ! Why do you live in Norfolk? Because it's a rural town ? We'll get ready for a fight to keep it that way! The State wants something else !
