I've used this SmartPlug with my desktop computer for the last five years or so to control the peripheral components. However, a few days ago is started to switch all peripherals off on its own after a few minutes of use. I initially suspected the computer to be at fault until it caused loud noises in my loudspeakers, as if I had a bad mains connection. After removing the SmartPlug, everything is back to normal. So unless I was unlucky, it seems that these SmartPlugs may have a limited life of about five years.

Did you get it fixed pal?
@CrankCase083 жыл бұрын
@@r.e2391 No. I'm still considering buying a new one, but was hoping that a more reliable alternative would have entered the market. However, I've not seen one yet.
@r.e23913 жыл бұрын
@@CrankCase08 Oh right, the exact same issue happened to me to. I was wondering if I could possibly get it fixed but I guess not. I'll attempt to find an alternative too. Thanks.

I've had mine for like 10 years, since we first got them sent through the door for free basically. Still use it, and still going strong. (knock on wood) I've got my Desktop plugged in on the main socket, then a 8 socket extension bank plugged in at the side for 2 monitors, speakers and external HDD.
@CrankCase082 жыл бұрын
@@Cyberbyte_010 It may be that the earlier ones had better quality components that made it more expensive for Eon to supply, so the switched them for lesser quality ones. Anyhow, I bought a 'Oneclick' socket panel and that's now doing the job nicely.

Hi Terrance Eden, would there be any chance of a set by set instruction video on how to set the Alexa up, with the Moxia battery, for people like myself who love tech, but have not got a clue how to set it up ! Many thanks chris

Yes I saw that thank you, and it all double Dutch to me ! I was hoping the installer of Moxia would of been able to set it up for me, as I am the least savi person when it comes to working out these things ! I love tech and I’m stumbling my way around Alexa at the moment. My aim is to make my home as energy smart as possible. I’ve done all the energy saving stuff light solar panels, battery storage, led lighting and now I’m looking at controlling all my devices to power completely off at the mains through smart Alexa plug so I’m using as little energy as possible with out compromising on my day to day activities or the hazel of unplugging or manually switching off things. So that the Moxia battery is as efficient as possible. I’m smart at what I want to do and how to do it, but I’m not smart enough to make it all work by myself ! Thank you by the way for your help it is most appreciated.

You can see what I have done so far, by the way on Facebook. It’s called Evs & hybrids and KZfaq channel is also called Evs & hybrids. I’m hoping to make a video of the installation of the Moxia battery on Thursday for my channel with my daughter. But Alexa is not as easy or skill app supported as I thought it would be ...

Bro.. I am switching from Nexus 6 to OnePlus 5T (128GB/8GB model) for just storage and battery.. I bought LG G6+ (with 128GB, Quad DAC) but was very dissatisfied.. the LCD was great but nothing beats the AMOLED on Nexus 6.. returned the LG phone.. Do you like the 5T so far?

Very good mate. Wish all of them "like & subscribe" scammars were as helpful as you. You're here to share your experience and help others at the same time, at a time that is convenient to you. No problem with that. Whereas those "like & subscribers" aka scammars are here to make money the best they can. They're all biased and always praise the product best which paid them or provided them with the most bribery type gifts. Cheers for this video and here you got a fan who liked and subscribed you FOR A CHANGE :D

I used this and other references from the same brand Intelliplug (from OnClick) for many years and I never had any problems. Only one problem lasts only 3 years. Can you please explain your conclusion??
@ImAnubis4 жыл бұрын
@@pespinha6366 Hi I was a support analyst IT support for 20 years or more. Printers run on software a very simple program but like your computer they need to be shut down before being powered off. It's like with turning off your computer by using the power switch. If you check the printer manual it does ask you to turn off the printer first before cutting the power.

I had a problem with my new (very powerful) gaming PC. When it's not playing games it is very efficient and the plug thinks the PC has gone to sleep and switches off all my monitors!!! Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of it?
@matthewday75658 жыл бұрын
Same problem, works fine for older systems, but modern levels of efficient idle make it cut out. Thinking of opening mine up (triangle screwdriver needed) to see if the current detector can be modified. If it's an inductive pickup, the secondary may have a resistor across it to limit sensitivity, while if it's a resistive pickup, a higher resistance would increase sensitivity
@matthewday75658 жыл бұрын
One other thought, not great for efficiency and maybe a backward step, but some gratuitous extra case fans and lighting may keep the power above the detection point
