As a local I’d say where you parked is probably not the best spot as it blocks a gate that could get used by farmers and emergency vehicles. If you went up the hill a bit on the road you’d see a lay-by people park in. Binevenagh is beautiful though. Went hiking there earlier for the first time in awhile and I have to say the way I went was less travelled and my way back down was a gamble full of loose terrain and close calls. Very tedious but loved every minute of it! Definitely worth a visit form anyone whether you are a local or a tourist.

Thanks for your comment. I didn’t park at the gate I parked at the lay by, you can see that at the beginning of the video as I pass the wall where the river is on the bend. I don’t know who it was who parked at the gate at the end of the video but as you say, it is a bit irresponsible as emergency services may need access.

Thanks for the video, I visited U434 today - be great if we could have more detail of it’s history- the missions it undertook, accounts from sailors- but obviously that cannot be revealed. I was expecting a WW2 German U boat rather than a 70’s Russian submarine.

This video to my mind, is just so trimendous, l have been on that a few times, but had to cut off at a certain point in the road to get to Loch Awe , there used to be a steam boat up there & l always liked to go for a sail on it, & years ago they brought up a railway carriage and made it into a railway cafe which was very good & you could have something to eat before you went for a sail on the steam boat, but that was long years ago, but a long time after that they brought the steam boat down to Loch Katrine, but apart from all that I always enjoyed driving along the A82, so thanks for posting this great video that I have thurly enjoyed.

My favourite drive in all of Scotland. Brings back a lot of happy memories from childhood, driving up from Fife with my Mum and Step-Dad to their caravan at Kinlochleven, with my aunt and uncle with the caravan next to us.Did that 3 or 4 times a year from the age of 11 until about 15.Good times. The melancholy music adds to the sentimentality of it for me.Although i remember my Mum breaking down crying the week my gran died, listening to 'The old ragged cross' on tha cassette player coming through Rannoch moor into Glencoe.

Thanks for the comments & glad you enjoyed!. The video was made over two visits. The first visit was at the end of lockdown when the Giants Causeway was still closed, this was when I got the main drone footage. The second visit was more recent and comprised the walk to the Giants Causeway. I was unaware of the no drone flying there as I use an app to check no fly zones & it didn’t mention this on it. Also on both visits I never saw any signage to say no drone flying anywhere. Both of my visits were early morning so no people or very few were present. As the Giants Causeway was closed at the time of my first visit, it was perfect to film with no people around as you wouldn’t be able to film normally with people around due to drone regulations.

We would’ve loved to explore the area more and film the Jacobite from different locations but had very limited time. West Coast Railways supplied the engine & carriages used in the Harry Potter films. The actual engine “Olton Hall” is on show at Warner Bros Studio Tour in London. West Coast Railways do promote it as the Hogwarts Express & even have a Harry Potter shop on the train. They’d be foolish not to capitalise on the film as it brings extra visitors to ride the steam train. It is also mention on their website “Hogwarts Express”.
