That actually is on the UP's Adams Sub main as this was well east of Eau Claire. This is the M-ALG3 as it started from Altoona Yard in Altoona and will head bound to Global 3 in Rochelle, Illinois.

I know Westbound the Altoona subdivision ends somewhere in the first 5 or 10 miles into Minnesota. But I thought going eastbound until Wyeville, WI, the Altoona subdivision ends there, then the Adams subdivision starts?

In actuality, the Altoona Sub main ends in the Twin Cities metro, South Saint Paul since it starts west from Altoona. Altoona east to Butler is the Adams Sub main. Finally, from Butler to Proviso Yard is the Kenosha Sub main.

Goodness sakes! Even DMIR (CN Repaint) SD40T-3 405 is on there for the return to Pokegama then back to the Missabi Iron Range. I got the DMIR 405 on the return to as it was assigned to the S772 with CN 5778 back on 3-22-24. Now, DMIR 405 several hours later going into 3-23-24, it gets on the M34581-23. Well done!

What time of the day did you film? The reason I ask is because early in the morning I heard this horn just north of Menomonie, Wisconsin from my home

I filmed this train around 5:25 pm. This train originally started in Altoona. The one you heard early in the morning must of been either a manifest train from North Platte, Nebraska to terminate in Altoona or a coke train from Roseport, MN or maybe a local. That's what I can think of what you heard in the morning. I could be missing something else.

When I see a local on the Chippewa Falls subdivision goes off east back to yard in Altoona. Locals for Menomonie i'm pretty sure don't make an appearance on the Chippewa Falls subdivision. There's 3 different local jobs west of the yard in Altoona. Menomonie most likely be it's own job. number.

That was the swapped power of ET44AC 3141 and Dash 9 2675 from Point Yard in Stevens Point as the previous power of the new CN 3294, the ex-Citirail of CN 2778 and "Standard Cab" C40-8 of CN 2107 (15th Anniversary logo) were on there when it came up on the Waukesha and Neenah Sub mains that day.

Beautifully done getting the B79041-21 as it started from Chappell Yard in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is heading for Norpaul Yard in Chicago, Illinois via the Indiana Harbor Belt. The ex-Citirails was CN 3924 & 3958. CN 2902 led with CN 3853 3rd and CN 2846 as the leading DPU on the tail.

That was the one I heard make the slow roll at prior to my arrival to the mainline today. Well done! It had to go through TGBO 4520 Rule 1103 10mph speed restriction at M.P 352.99. CSXT CW44AH 5106 and CP class leader AC44CWM 8200. This is M34241-23.
