This is great stuff! For my skill level, zeroing at 50 makes the most sense, as I really shouldn't be shooting much past 250. Even if ole Mose was out at 400, I'd never take that shot.

Watched this and your .308 vs 6.5cm. Best and only tutorials I’ve ever seen explaining the use of scope recticles ever. Love the way you show different useages and explain exactly what your doing and why. Like the bit about using the measuring part. Always wondered what that was for. And that wasn’t even what your vids were about. Awesome !!

I know you’re much better seater than I am, but I don’t know why your scope always jumps high after each shot. I don’t have that issue.

Also a good tripod can be extended all the way out so the two back legs are literally behind you at ground contact very stable and hold front of gun down for shot splas

Also shoot prone on a tripod instead of a bipod. Game changer for stability

My long gun is front heavy so the balance is at the end of fore arm so if I go half way back I can spot shot and the gun being front heavy absorbs a bunch of recoil with a 300 win mag and 7 prc

Hello. I watch your video but I don't understand anything because I don't know English. So I want to ask a question. Which optic is best for hunting pigs, usually at short distances (30-40 meters), sometimes at distances of 80-100 meters and in dense forests? Lpvo(1-4x24) or red dot? Note: Maximum range is 100 meters.

Think I'll stick with my Sig BDX rangefinder. Connects to my phone for current barometer (built into my Samsung) temps and it adjusts my drop for that day's atmospherics. Range, dial, dinner...

15:50 I've found that those BDC reticles are kinda for suckers who don't usually shoot much past 300 yards and will buy into gimmicks. Because much past 300 yards a BDC will really only work like the salesman told you at one altitude/barometric pressure and temp range using the correct bullet and at the same velocity to match the drop rate, and the farther you shoot the worse the separation gets if you're off. Why D.O.P.E. books were invented!

10:54 your feeding issues are most likely from your bolt timing being off, your ejection pattern is spitting brass at almost 4-5 O'clock. Meaning the system is a little bit under-gassed, put a suppressor on (adding backpressure with the cans of that era) and the rifle should start ejecting brass more towards 3 O'clock at 90° out the ejection port. That or just wait for the buffer spring to wear. Not locking back on the last round is also a symptom, barely not enough gas to reach the latch point.

Im new to long range. Been shooting since i was about 10 years old. Just never owned anything that i could take out to distance. Proficient at about 3-500yds with my ar15 with a 1-8 lpvo. Got a db10 ar10 that id like to stretch out to 1-2000 yds. Thinking the ep5 is a great value and within my price range. Would the 5x25 gen 1 be sufficient or do you think the 7x35 gen 2 would be worth the extra $150? If the ar10 isnt good to 1-2000yds i am considering getting a bolt gun to get me there. Always been fascinated by long range. Just getting to a point in life i can afford it. Though i am always on a tight budget for extra ammo.

Some people don't realize BC isn't exactly a "fixed" number, it changes during bullet flight time and _degrades_ as the bullet loses velocity. Why if you do some digging on the Hornady site and most other manufacturers you can usually find BC numbers for a specific bullet at 3 different Mach velocity numbers. Those can be entered into ballistic calcs with a multi-BC input. The number on the box is BC near the muzzle, not at 500-1k+ yards.

Very neat! Ive taken a 12.5" barrel 300blk to 410yds with 150 grain fmjs. Ive got a 9" now gonna do the same and see how it does. Ive been having trouble deciding on what grain bullet to go with. I cant use suppressors where i live so likely gonna go with 110 or 125gr to get rifle type ballistics

I ordered the less expensive one. In fact its in my pole barn and I am heading out to my little range to try it out for the first time. The reason I purchased it is because my left arm is not as strong as it used to be. I am hoping it will allow me to move around and shoot easier than setting up a table everywhere I want to plink from. I learned so much from your video! THANK YOU!
