need a crap load of main sheet on at the start. Upwind speed 6.8 knots - luffing main the boat speeds up in these conditions.

I don’t race, but in 30+ knots is a spinnaker really going to give you much speed over a Genoa or even a standard 100% jib? I mean-after a certain wind state, hull speed is hull speed and additional sail just creates additional headaches, no?

Try to pull the job to the mast when your easing the spin sail so the sail goes up with no problem

Absolutely hate broaching. Racing sailing dinghys you'd be out front flying like the wind and then some big wave comes along lifts you up, spins you around, flips you the bird and you're in the drink.

I bring in the main as soon as the boat starts to go unstable and it keeps the chute from overpowering on the chute side. Ya gotta do it in time though and trim the main counterintuitively quite a bit. But when you do that you usually can prevent the dearh roll and gybe. Fomer j24 owner... also works well on the sonar which i have now
