That said, over the last several years I’ve designed and had printed numerous nickname proxies with Assassin’s Creed fanart, so all this set did for me was give me actual real cards to redo that art on (assuming I want them for my decks). As a Doctor Who fan, I bought all the precons not only to collect the card but because I could sleeve them up and play them with friends. Not sure if an AC fan is willing to spend all that money for a complete collector treatment set of AC though

You're almost looking at it as every second needs to be drafted. Sets like this on more aim to the people that are willing to spend money all the game every single week. Is 18 between main scents like Thunder Junction and Bloomburrow, Which this falls in the middle of. If you look over all, Where this is a sat right now when it releases is perfect, Thunder junction is still in everybody's head. So this set will actually increase the price of a lot of outlaw cards. A lot of people are still in the midst of not pre-ordering stuff because of the pandemic. 3 weeks ago I hope to pick up a lot of assassin cards online, I pushed off and waited a week and a half, A quarter of the list I was going to buy was sold out. Because of assassin's creed coming out. Because this is mainly an assassin set, You also need to look out the cell rate of all assassin cards too. That will tell you the actual influence this set is having on the overall market.

I want some singles, but the Afterbirth style packs are a complete turn off, and I'm not sitting a bunch of crap I don't even like the franchise for.

There should always be play boxes with 12-13 cards of every set for drafting. That being said, assassin's creed collector will probably sell well overtime. There was a spike because of a Rudy video, and now the spike is coming back down, I think that's totally normal. Going back down from a spike is not necessarily tanking.

I like assassins creed and I like morphs. So I was really hyped for a precon around the disguise mechanic. I thought yea totally makes sense that there were so little actual disguise cards in the kaust deck from mkm and it was more of a morph deck if they bring another precon around the mechanic now. Turns out such thing doesn’t exist. So currently I guess I will by 1 single card (an uncommon) and that’s it for me

Personally as a casual, any price increase on sets and boosters are a crime against the player base. Having the price go down is an absolute win!

I said this five months ago. This should be called Assassin's GREED because it is just another overpriced Aftermath RIPOFF!!! I won't waste my money on these expensive GARBAGE boxes. I could care less if the Collector boxes are scarce. I will wait awhile and buy a few singles. If players continue to buy this garbage, Wizards will continue to make these RIPOFF products. Besides, with products coming out at a monthly basis, players do not have enough time to enjoy the last set that came out. No FOMO here. Thank you for the video.

Subscribed, Its helpful having some updates about what people think about the longetivity of the game. Lorcana has only recently come out here in australia - we're all playing catchup now.

They released this set in this time because they knew the target wasn't common magic player(because of MH3 recently),but for fan and collectionist of assassin's creed First to begin with

Im still enjoying mh3. Like you said, i cant play sealed with this set. The value reprints are not too interesting to me. The new art look like lorcana cards, really dont like that, nothing against lorcana just not in magic please. Can open duplicate "bombs" in a box. Hard pass. Dont care if it goes up. I didnt care for lotr 2nd go around nor did i feel left out because it spiked in price.

You're not wrong about some of the reasons but this was the most obvious flop of the decade. You are however, wrong about why Fallout was successful, it's not just due to the artificial scarcity. It's all in the #s. Fallout box = 180 total cards per box, Assassin's Creed = 120 total cards per box. Right there, the best Assassin's Creed can do is 2/3 of Fallout box value. Just from a pure what you get in the box perspective. The idea that Assassin's Creed can sell for $400 or $500 is just ridiculous from the start. If Fallout can spike to $600 in the best case scenario, then Assassin's Creed is at best worth $375. Fallout = 150 new cards and 175 reprints, with many unique Fallout universe art (vault boy) in particular. Assassin's Creed = 70 new cards and 30 reprints. From these numbers you can figure out that Fallout had anywhere between 50-100 cards people actually care about and Assassin's Creed has at best, 15-20. No amount of scarcity can help Assassin's Creed out with these numbers. It was doomed from the start, and everyone should have been aware of this having experienced Aftermath.

For me personally, it's more about the saturation of magic products. I mean, I *just* spent $100+ last week on an MH3 gift bundle, meaning I'm not gonna buy anything in the near future. And after a month, why would I buy assassin's creed when I can also do Bloomburrow prerelease next month???

With these shitty universes beyond to me Magic is loosing it's identity. If I started playing Magic now I would think it is a game about mix and mash of pop culture random games in cards. Not about how Phyrexia and Eldrazi ravaged planes, Planeswalkers fighting for their plane survival etc. And Disney style cards has no place in it. In other words - Secret Lair mostly is pure garbage visually and Hatsune Miko can go and F itself. Can't wait for Fortnite or similar shit edition Universes Beyond. Seeing how money thirst is hard for Hasbro - it will happen. Also singles > sealed overpriced products all day every day. I stopped playing magic for 7 years and came back to see it became a madness. In both price and content.

Honestly I like some of the cards. Especially my favorites are [Assassin's Gauntlet] for 3 mana tap all target opponents creatures and free equip and when it deals damage draw a card discard a card. That is insanely good for 3 mana. [Brotherhood Regalia] is in my opinion a strictly better whispersilk cloak since you can target your own creature and being 2 mana cheaper for your Voltron commanders and many more cards. Honestly I think I wanna build Connor or Ratonhnhake' ton just because of the voltron strategy. I hope it does tank a bit more so I can buy multiple copies for cheap price. There is alot of cards I want for my Tracos deck.

I love the concept, but honestly, this has to stop. A set literally came out 2 weeks ago, and 2 sets ahead are already in preview season. It's a lot of legendaries, and as a fan of AC, I will get some stuff, but it's gonna flop hard after a horizons set, and before bloomburrow(probably gonna be the best set this year at least from hype) we still haven't recovered financially, and it just seems scummy.

I like assassins creed, but im not interested in buying this set. As a super new player who literally just bought the warhammer commander deck precon to jump into magic. im more interested in the bloomburrow sets

OKO has reserved a seat for Nadu in MTG Valhalla. I would wait months before buying any Assassin's Creed because the duplication alone is going to obliterate singles prices, even if there is an uptick someone opening like 40 boxes could drop the entire market.

You also can not compare MH3 to AC as AC is just a means to introduce non mtg players tro Magic by the sidedoor just like Fallout was. Epilogue was not an external franchise and nobody cared about it that s also one of the reasons it failed. AC is exactly what the market needs now...a non mtg set after the best release of the year to intrigue non players who just came to Magic. Also Collector boxes have rarer serialized cards...so you really can t compare that small set made for non magic players to anything else.

You are wrong because almost nobody buys the set on TCG. My LGSes have been selling the collector booster boxes for $280 for 3 weeks. Why on earth would people spend $350+ on TCG? This is where your data is wrong

Normally box and pack openings prior to release create hype, but the ones I've watched for Assassin's Creed have been disappointing and full of too many repeats.

Theres a number of factors here from the aftertaste of aftermath, the controversy with ubisoft, price point, and what it's wedged between.

As an assassins creed fan, I hope prices fall hard so I can afford a PlaySet master set with out breaking the bank

They are trying hard inflate prices and sales to keep Hasbro stock from tanking. They have shareholders to make happy, not their customers.

I still have Nadu and Ulamog on the brain from MH3. Assassins Creed is the furthest thing on my mind. Bloomburrow is what I'm waiting for.

Stop it, whether this is Hasbro or Mark or a combination, this is a bad idea. Admittedly, I haven't played since ACIII and I don't know if there's enough characters and important items/artifacts in the IP to be a full set like LOTR. But, while I am biased as a huge Tolkien nerd, you could feel the love put in the set. I personally don't agree with the Holiday release (since it was less than a year after the initial release and felt like a money-grab more than anything), there is a huge pool of cards, rich and deep lore, and love throughout the design. Like +10/+0 equipment for 0... Other than the black/WUBRG Ezio, Caduceus, and haystack, there's nothing in the set for me. Think about that, a card that stuck out to me as a player more than like 98% of the set is a bale of hay. In Contrast, I have a Frodo Voltron commander deck, Sauron sac do big things commander deck, and an abzhan food deck in the works. Sorry for the rambling, but like, WoTC just doesn't stop screwing up. They'll have huge wins like LOTR and MH3 and then colossal fails like AFM and AC, and it's just like not just product fatigue, but brand fatigue is starting to set in.
