I love how you honor you Dad in every video by prominently showing the engraved lighter up front. It's heartwarming that he's forefront in your mind. And that was a big stone your girl ' passed '.

this was by far the most painful video of cutting opals ive ever seen seeing you grind away the colour, even tho it was necessary, sanded away a part of my soul.

Given the weird shape it started as, that really did come out looking great.

This is the first time I thought you wasted some of the rough. I cannot say for sure because I obviously was not there. Of course this does not mean I think you made a mistake. I just think the stone might have been better bigger with more inclusions but there is not a good way to know that in advance.

I think I'd have to vote in favor of the Dremel, it's able to be more spot specific.

I thought you were being too brutal,but it is really beautiful now.I would be too timid to grind away on it like you did,but WOW! Shazamm!!!

What fuel did this come from Justin? It’s gorgeous!!
@barrywalker794421 сағат бұрын
I would think that using the Dremel would always optimize the opal because after getting at least most of the sand off, it would be easier to determine exactly where to make slices for the optimum yield or maybe carve it into some shape suggested by the natural form.

I would have just left it as it was at 8:54 in the video and not "cut it into a free shape". Interesting how different the pov's can be on what is "enough" ;-) I strongly agree to the treated gems being fraud, if sold as "natural". On the other hand, I heard that triplets do have a protective coating which ensures the opal inside will tolerate every day wearing as jewellery. If declared properly and valued by the lesser amount of "real" opal in such a piece of jewellery, I'd honestly take it into consideration to have something like that for every day. It all comes down to being properly and honestly informed about what is being sold. Anything else is betrayal and creates bad Karma anyway ;-) I appreciate your honesty and concern for something you could make to be misused. 🙏

Nimbus 2001 ? A witch master needs a proper broomstick, eyh ? Awesome kind of humour ! 🤩 I am watching all of this on my 70 cm monitor. This way, it is even more painful to see how much of the actual stone is getting cut away in the process. Still, I am so happy to see it in this "natural" shape. I'd have it set like this in a ring anytime! Live is not only too short for being serious all the time, it is far too short to cut down to "norm" what was formed so awesomely colourful by nature in thousands of years. I guess I have put black light mining (or rather searching the leftover piles) for opal and then learning to cut it myself on my bucket list. This is so awesome to watch. I'm a fan!

That is exactly the kind of "opal-cutting" I was referring to in my comment to the latest video a few days ago. This is what I would prefer anytime. To preserve as much of a stone as possible. This is awesome to watch and great to follow your concerns and worries and to see how extremely responsible you feel for the discovery of the @younggunsopalhunters . LOVE LOVE LOVE this video and of course the most adorable gem! ! ! Thank you so much for sharing. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Very cinematic ! Why did you cut that part ? It looks rather clean of impurities. Is it because you didn't want to have to big of a cristal part that is not sitting on top of theblack poach (especially since it's on the side)?
