I remember in my childhood, RC cola was the best tasting cola among all, they were very heavy advertisers, more than Pepsi and coke.

The reason why I love Barbie so much is because she’s not afraid to do whatever she wants. And I’m afraid to do a lot and she’s inspired me to do things out of my comfort zone like go into a store without my jacket that might seem small but like that’s really big to me. I try to be like Barbie not perfect, but not ordinary.

My first Barbie family member was Good Lookin' Talking Ken-I can remember picking him out in the toy department at the Grant's store. It must have been 1969 I learned as I was researching when I started collecting the dolls I had wanted but knew I couldn't really ask for. Displayed next to him was the Talking Julia doll-who's namesake was still on television at the time. I was really infatuated with that doll! She was so cool with her short hair and two-tone metallic pantsuit. I was only four years old, and my cousins had the classic Barbie family and the new Mod family including Christie and Groovy PJ. - I could visit with them and play dolls with them after church; they had everything! A few years later they had the Dawn collection with the fashion show stage. I still liked the Mod family the best even though the Dawn collection was easier to play with and much more affordable. I was able to get Gary and Ron at one point. I wasn't aware till much later how much of an "ally" my mother was considering how many action figures I owned and had received for my birthdays and Christmas. One year I got the entire set of The Planet of the Apes-except Zira. My sister got her for me and scoured all the stores until she found her-That was the best Christmas! I really enjoy watching your videos-it's always a fun trip back to a time when everything was the color Fushia and chartreuse!
