Really appreciate the playthrough. Solo play is increasingly the only way available to me after friends move away, become involved in other life requirements, etc. Hope you take this in the spirit of constructive criticism (and I know I am 9 years late) but the method of handheld camera by yourself made it very hard to keep at this video. Hopefully in the 9 years, you've come up with a better way to create your videos.

I love this game. I have 3 of the large expansions and the conversion kit for for monsters and heroes from the first edition. Just bought Dungeon Crusade and I'm psyched to receive and play it.

Yo this is awesome, I didn't even realize I was using this strategy for other smaller calculations (mostly targetting) yet it never occurred to me to replace the entire "DM entity" with rolls in other games.

I have looked into this game and it's interesting. One thing i noticed though, is all enemies etc allways shown for the heroes when the map starts? That takes some fun out of it since exploring and stumbling upon a horde of enemies is one of the most fun part of dungeon crawlers.

I see what your doing here but is the game made to play sole as an option by default using the app I’m just curious cause I’m on the fence with this game I want to pick it up but only if there is a solo mode implemented in the base game so when there’s no one to game with I can run it alone, good home brew by the way

Hello there Ben and good evening. :) It's nice to hear from you. I hope you're doing great. I first want to say thank you for the interest in this easy little mod for Descent. Sorry for the shaky camera. When I return to this series, I'll be using a tripod. Out of the box, Descent does not have a solo mode. It was originally created to where one person plays as the evil overlord that controls the monsters and can play certain cards that can hinder the heroes. There can be either 1 to 4 players who control the heroes. The app, Road to Legend, turns Descent into a game you can play solo. The nice thing is you can play solo with controlling 2, 3 or 4 heroes if you like. The app is awesome! They did a great job on it. So, if you're looking to play Descent, most certainly get the app. I will be returning later this year to do a more comprehensive video on this mod I created. Lastly, I kindly invite you to check out my game Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil. I'm a diehard soloist board gamer. I built Dungeon Crusade from the ground up for the soloist board gamer, but it can be played co-op just as easily. Dungeon Crusade is an open-world dungeon-crawl board game. rodger deering thanks for clearing that up for me, I went ahead and purchased Descent and it should get here soon, i enjoyed your video and subbed too, I will hit u up again and let you know what I think about Descent and your project you’ve worked on I look forward to checking that out I just wish their were more solo dungeon miniatures games out there for people like me that may not have people to game with all the time it seems like solo play is usually an after thought for most of these games and if you have any suggestions for other games like I described I’m all ears, I appreciate your reply and look forward to chatting again

That is something you can do pretty much in a variety of games that depend on cards and dice. I do it for example with War of the Ring and Runewars: Miniatures. Funny, isn't it? Well done buddy. Keep enjoying those viewtiful games.

So you are using dice rolls to select random AI choices and targets, and you are randomly drawing monster cards and search tokens? It's about as good as you can get solo without playing the app quests. Not bad. It does take a bit of a imagination.

And I thank you for your kind words my friend. :) I always try to think outside of the box when I get into creative/ imaginative mode. This system you saw in this playthrough is from my game Dungeon Crusade. The monsters, rather the minions in Dungeon Crusade have this color coding and really helps keeping track of their health and other game mechanics.This system I came up with for Descent was very early, as it's more perfected now. We're in the midst of wrapping up Dungeon Crusade, and after this I would like to do another Descent playthrough with a more perfected system I devised. It was great hearing from you Mathieu. The prototype game of course in this video looks good, as there is a certain charm to it, however the final version is incredibly impressive.This game has went through some great revisions, tweaks and balances to make it even more smoother with tighter gameplay and the combat has changed a bit with now any hero can attack with any weapon,, but may be at a disadvantage if the hero is not versed in a certain warfare that the monster has. Basically, it encourages party building to take down monsters. Epic play! I really enjoyed all the unforgiveness (just like the classic Arkham Horror or Talisman). You should get the original Swedish version! In my opinion, it has the most beautiful artwork of all editions. Also, there are some rare rip-off games of it out there...

Remember the AD&D "Gold box Series"? I think there were 3 sets of them before the Eye of the Beholder games.I had the Dragonlance series:Champions of Krynn - Death Knights of Krynn - Dark Queen of KrynnHow about Interplays Stonekeep .. still have the cool box it came in.Of course Arena & Daggerfall ushered in that "Sandbox RPG" feel! Morrowind refined it beautifully.Dragon Warrior and Final fantasy on the old Nintendo .. 2 of my favorites on that platform... played through them multiple times.Zelda & Link as well .. there was another similar called Crystalis and it was pretty good too.Also had AD&D Heroes of the Lance (Nintendo) but didn't like it much - to much of a chore to play.Thanks for the memories! :)

I do like Mini's, but believe it or not am beginning to tire of them. Where this game is concerned I think I would actually prefer the lower price point, with Cardboard Standees (provided the art is first class). I am fine with them in Eldritch Horror (if they are good enough for Fantasy Flight????)

I am not a fan of cardboard minis, BUT I have seen two dimensional miniatures printed on clear plastic. They look amazing! I am not sure who makes these, but I bet with a little research you could find them. You might be able to offer more content at a lower price with these. That said, I think offering the game with the card board and an extra option for minis makes great sense.
