Hello, Thanks for the video! I'm about to buy one to ride 2 up around the Alpes. My main concern is the comfort. First, is the engine smooth enough when crusing at low pace and second does your wife enjoy the rear seat position en comfort? Thanks, have a good safe ride
@AdventuringNZ
@AdventuringNZ 8 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video and I bet you are super excited to get going on yours. As for smoothness of the engine, it's really smooth and especially now I have put a 14 tooth sprocket on she cruises along beautifully at low speed without compromising highway speeds. My wife says the pillion seat is more comfortable than our GS800 was. Hope this is helpful. I love this bike 😁

@@AdventuringNZ thanks a lot. Yes I test ride it and really enjoy the engine and the frame behaviour. I'm glade the low revs does not bother you as much and you got around to it. There is still a drawback that others report it's the heat coming from the engine. Is this something that somtimes get on your nerves or that you can live with? Thanks
@AdventuringNZ
@AdventuringNZ 8 ай бұрын
@lewiss66 The heat thing some people whinge about is not a big deal for me in our climate, and I have only really noticed it when sationary after sustained highway speeds. I do choose my lighter summer socks when warm day riding as I have Mid-calf-length SIDI Adventure boots ... which get hot anyways. Some say the CAT Delete kit helps with the heat and I'm going to get the dealer to do that next service - while they have the skidplate off - just because I also hear it makes a little more power and makes the stock muffler sound better.
@lewiss66

@@AdventuringNZ Yes, you raised a point . The decat will help. It's what I did on my G650Xcountry for adv prep. Other than that others told me that this engine has a high compression ratio (13.5 : 1) compared with other bikes like the transalp (11:1) for ex. (But the 750 has some bad design like its a pain to replace the air filter ans don't like the frame) So that compression ratio would make it run hotter I guess. As long as you ride it slow that would not impact too much in summer. There is the 990 ktm coming with a bigger engine oil tank that could lower the eat a bit but don't expect much reduction in compression ratio. It's a KTM ready to race!

How was the passenger seat for comfort?
@AdventuringNZ
@AdventuringNZ 9 ай бұрын
@genelovisone1880 - Comfort was not an issue with regard to "seat hardness" but it would be fare to say that there is limited room to spare - and we banged helmets more than usual - because I'm not the smallest guy. We felt that for short adventures and exploring, no problem at all. For a long day out, Juliet would need quite a few rest stops. Definately not a show stopper! Hope this helps 😀

@EvoRidess hey thanks for commenting. We're down in Central HB. I have a GoPro 10 and a GoPro11 atm which are mounted with a @chinmounts.com for my LS2 lid and @motomounts.co.nz one for my Shoei. The mic audio is a Purple Panda Lavaila Kit from Amazon. I have heard the GoPro12 will bluetooth to cardo intercom ... don't quote me on that as it may just be just my wishful thinking lol. The other thing you need is the Gopro Media mod kit so you can get the audio out from the GroPro mic. You can also plug in an external USB power source. The mod kit is pretty useful off the helmet too as the mic is quite good. Only downside is the media mod kit is it not waterproof and it does seem to drain the battery quicker than without it We love exploring on our CTs ... we might even cross paths being "East Costers" too 😁
