Old admiral legit just gave vague orders to master chief knowing he would just perform like a badass, "defend this station" legit no strategy, just getter done... "Giving the covenant back their bomb"... doesn't need an explanation just okays it because master chief wants to return to sender... Man understood the assignment, that this dude MC and he gets shit done... Other Generals throughout the whole series yelling at chief and not listening to them... Just give this man simple orders of the direction the enemy is in and a time frame... problem solved.

When he was 8 - he defied orders to leave someone behind on a training mission, hijacked a Pelican, and beat the crap out of the guards with sticks and stones (assuming they were hostile as they were armed marines out of uniform). It's also not the first time he's done something like this - he led a team on to a Covenant ship with warheads to blows up a covenant ship in space right after learning their new armour was EVA capable (a ship involved is actually the one we see in the one Halo: Reach map that's been torn apart after being de-commissioned and scrapped). So yeah, it is kinda normal for him.

@@anthony7697 oh, are you talking about the ship carcass that you move through during the last mission to get to the Pillar of Autumn? The one that had the multiplayer map based around it? I had no idea it took part in that action. Is the ship name visible on the prow? I gotta go back and check!
