Thanks for comment, so true. I spent a number of years working as a signalman. Before moving to guard and in the end driver. Railway work in its self is complicated. I'm going to photograph the stages of the rodding construction. Best Wishes

This video clip is brilliant. Have you got a video of it's construction? Also a video of the fitting of the sound Controller System? Are you able to list links to the "Magic Scale Modelling", along with the costings of the components? Thanks...

Very well said Bob, agree with you 100%, people like us, ex railwaymen will be super critical, because that's what our job was - safety critical, and another thing that winds me up with people operating DCC diesels, they start them up, toot the horn and off they go! They're not cars- people really don't know what the real railway is about - trains operate on air, compressors pump.ip air into the system to make everything work, minimal 70psi to get contractors and valves to operate and enough air required to stop in the first place, if you cant stop you cantmmove, applies to diesels and electric traction, such as our old class 400 EMU stock. Keep em coming Bob, take care

Hi Bob and Nigel. Nicley said with the coupling of locos and speed. When I was a driver didn't have any coupling to do. Our trains only went about 45 50 anyway. Love those little locos, really long trains for little engine's. Hope you had a great birthday. Thank you for sharing. Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....

New to your channel. Hornby seem to hire people without proper knowledge and Ive been to that new revamped Wonder Works nonsense. Prices are high and no decent layout there either. As you found out 21 non sound decoders are available. I use lais. These are about £12 and Digitrains stock them. Im on you tube too. Will watch more of your vids all the best

Ooh .... pretty ..... VERY pretty. When it comes to sound, the only clip of a turbomotive I've heard was a Swedish example. It's an almost alien sounding constant, throaty roar, rather than the familiar 'chuff chuff'. What we choose to run? Well, Brewer's Rule #1 applies. 🙂

I've been thinking about doing this for years and your videos have inspired me to get on with it. A follow up "how to" video would be most interesting. Not necessarily an entire build, but perhaps something on building a drive wheel or a steam dome. This is a fascinating art that deserves more recognition. Well done!

I purchased 3 versions and they all have had to go back. All 3 had glue drips on body one the smoke box dart handles were missing, one had rear steps loose in box, lined sound version on side tank paint work had been touched up but with different shade of paint and it covered a bit of the lining. In all a very poor quality model.

Thats a bit different to Sams Trains review, he really slated his model. I have the GWR green one & am very happy with it.
@johnneedham6537
@johnneedham6537 10 ай бұрын
He didn't, actually. He said that it was a great mdel let down by its assembly at the factory. He backed this up by showing the faults which included errant glue and inept fitting of the chimney cap among other things. Another reviewer I watched couldn't make the engine move at all and lambasted the quality control. I think, for what it's worth, it's a great model that in some cases has been let down by lacklustre facory quality control.
