Oddly...I wonder how Robin Williams would have handled this reading. He was a master at voices and imitation. Perhaps one coukd use a voice AI version.

Would be interesting to see documentary on how gay-mafia of the art world in late 60s through 70s in US was able to lift up talented illustrator as David to the status of a fine artists…

Gosh, his quotes from pop music titles like … road to nowhere, or we are all on our own…. Are hilarious in a context of life experience of an “artist”

Hockney. One of the biggest frauds ever foisted on the world of art.

I'm responding to russanna1969's speculation below. A classic symbiotic relationship. Both benefited tremendously from her presence, too, as a friend/lover/wife and photography subject (he sold photographs of her); and as a gallery owner.. Win/win, the two-way street of life. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qNpgithixpfTk6s.html

I bought his book, that's the way I see it, decades ago. I had to have it. I don't like all of his paintings but I think he doesn't either! But he sees the world in a new and exciting way and he is right. I am a forever DH fan

I love the white grids of the polaroid... it makes it very attractive to go look at each square and observe the details in that section.... very much as if I were hidden and peeking out from my hiding place to spy on somebody out there... taking in every little detail of them, before they'll vanish, leave, move, anything that changes the situation. It also takes away the notion of "perspective", since - contrary to a painting - here is no perspective. All of the squares are created equal, from a perspective point of view......
