@@theamericanyoutuber I dont think you understand the physics at work. Go get like a thin plastic cup that you can poke a small hole in it on the side. Then put it fully underwater somewhere with the bottom sticking up of course. The water level you're thinking of is certainly well above the entire cup. But the water level we care about is the height of the hole in the side of the cup. That is the limit to where it should fill up to. You then get an amount of air left above that point. Because as the water pours in through the hole, air has to be flowing out to displace the water coming in. But once it reaches the level of the hole, air doesn't simply flow down to get out. This is why you can have underwater pockets of air.

The oxygen supply would still run out far more quickly than it would take others to save the person, regardless if I’m wrong or not. Better to be willing to die, sacrificing yourself, and be able to float into unconsciousness via holding your breath till you pass out. Just saying.

It's because we had spent an entire year with these characters. We began watching the show with preconceived notions, stereotypes and generalizations of them -- only to have those ideas shattered as we learned more about them. They were all thrown onto a strange and mysterious island, but the show was about the characters. At the end of the first season, we see how these characters boarded the plane. We remember who they were before they knew one another -- and we remember how our ideas of them were wrong. The characters that we despised ended up being among our favorites.
