It always sticks in my craw that it always seems that of all the original foursome, its Peter that gets treated the worst by Nick in terms of being patronized and condescended to. Sure, Peter never took himself seriously, but Nick always seemed to be thr most denigrating to Peter.

Also not helped by Nick openly mocking Sheila's mannerisms and telling her to shut up. Its bad enough he tells ken to shut upz he but tells the audience to shut up, now hes telling the ladies on the program to shut up?

41:33, here is something that really drives me mad about Nick. Andree quitr legitimately had Clement on Deviation cuz what Clement was talking about was that a person was trying to climb outsode the building when they open the window, but if theyre on thr sill of a buikding theyre alrrady outside and you cant open a window from the outside, but once ag a in Nick is being an obtuse idiot and doesnt understand and it goes badly for Andree again. It wouldnt the only time Nick's obtuseness would go badly for panelists.

Did u notice that Nick allowed Kenneth to wriggle out of repetition by saying he said 'wair' and then 'where' with two different spellings? Besr this in mind any time someone in the future tries this and Nick replies, 'this is sound radio, and its what you hesr with ypur ears and not what u see in your.mind or how its written'

Did anyone notice how.nasty Nick.got tp Andree during the subject pf 'riddles' when she was trying to reference the sprts.of riddles Peter Jones mentioned.amd Nicl is like 'ive never see a cracker.have a riddle that says.'something like peter Jones just said' as though taking what she said literally and at face value and not giving her the benefit of the doubt for speaking colloquially.

I hate whenever Nicholas says, 'oh i thpught you were gonna say this, i thought ypu were gonna say that' cuz his assumptions about what someone is going to say just make him come across rather pompous, particularly during the subject of 'putting a sock in it' and he thought Kenneth was gonna.tell Andree Melly to put a sock in it, but the fact that Nick said it makes him come across as disparaging to her... as usual.

Nicholas always has these ridiculous assumptions that have absokutely no basis in realityz like during Sheilas tslk on 'my future' or when Peter was talking abiut picking up blooms.and blossoms.he made this erroneous assumption rhat Peter was tryijg to cpean it up cuz it sounded filthy wuth the assumption Peter was trying to pick up Sheila for something salacious. He was a madter of thr erroneous.assumption and also seemed to be thr master of excuse making whenever he tried.to.justify lesv8ng a subject with someone in apitr of the legit challenge they made. He ought to be giving a gold.medla for the berbal gymnastics he made throughout his career on this show

Something else i noticed in the esrly days is that they will create subjects that are specifically meant for women to talk about in order to generate suitable laughter when thr men challenge and take over having to talk about it. And thrn you have subjects specifically for men to talk about lile 'how i grew my beard' whuch becomes jolly difficult for women to talk about abd seems to only exist to make them look foolish at thr expense of thr gents.

Nicholas Parsons talking about his hit record „Fantasy“ is one of the highlights of the show for me. When he begins I still expect him to be the Straight Man and it takes me a moment to realise he’s going into Merton-style surrealism. I love it.

Juno Alexander: IM HAVING A HEART ATTACK!! Nicholas: well dont, just relax. It goes to show what can happen to women on this show in trying to deal with the pressure and why anyone not named Aimi.macDonald, Andree Melly or Sheila Hancock were reluctant to appear on the show if it.meant being pressured to deal with the big mouths that dominate the proceedings.

I often feel that the only reason kenneth ever gets subjects is to stop from arguing. You gotta feel nad for clever women like Andree and Sheila cuz theyd often get denigrqted not just by the panelists but by Nicholas, patronizing git.

Heres something o hate, in Peter Jones debut episode we basicslly see the beginning of the sexist mysognystic attitude Kenneth woupd take up regarding women. On the subject of Surprises, he inundates Andree Melly with insults, she starts up saying 'to find Kenneth Williams can be so absokutely beastly to me in this game when ive always been nice to him is one of the greatest surprises ive had in my life and i do feel' she gwts buzzed for hesitation by Peter. Now he was trying to explain that after the unlnind things Ken said about Andree, apeter felt she was hesitating. But he didnt get a.chance to actually finish saying that cuz Kenneth was trying to convince Peter that Andree was deviating. PETER once.more tries explaining but no sooner are the wprds 'and after the unkind words' Kenneth starts praising Peter thinking that he was defending him, and Nick took this up and wrongly assumed that Kenneth yried to nip or wink to Peter to defend him and also makes the erroneous proclamation that Peter.challenged on the wrong score, totally disregarding Andree in the process and not once coming to her defense regarding how unkind Kenneth was being towards her.

I always hate how most of thr women in the early days are treated rather shoddily, like theyre second class citizens and any time they try to speak up for themselves on anything no one takes ehat theure saying at all seriously or with any degree of consideration, and theyre basically just the straight laced stooge so other people.can get laughs, often at their expense
