Wow!!! I must've done 99.99% of the signwriting in this video🖌..from Boalloy Linkliners & Tautliners to York Boxes via, ribbed Fruehauf dry boxes and fridges, Gray & Adams fridges, SDC curtainsiders, Volvo 88s, F7s, F10s, F12s, FLs and FHs, Mercs, Scanias etc. etc. etc. I even remember going to Ronnie's house (it was like Southfork Ranch😂) to paint names & numbers on the horse boxes and stables etc.

I look at those trucks and smile. They looked good. Stylish in their own rugged solid way. Rarely let you down. And NO sensors 😂

Only Ever Met Him Once, I Turned up Unannounced at His yard/workshop and Asked If I could Look at His Collection of Restored Lorries, Not Knowing Me From Adam He Got Someone from the Office to Take Me over to where the collection was kept and left Me with the Keys to Return when I finished. A Very Nice Gentleman Indeed. R.I.P. Tony McGovern.

Been in a lot of those, started driving in 1968 when cafes were everywhere, some good, some not so good, some did digs too.. good old days ? depend how you looked at it I guess, I always thought they were until I started driving in Europe, an eye opener with the food, parking, hotels, and roads , put the U.K. to shame in that respect...

How sad to learn of my neighbour's passing; only met him once in 35 years, but a lovely man, and clever businessman too! RIP Mr McGovern, you are sadly missed, God speed.
@charliegilbert88736 ай бұрын
Usually I'd be sad to see a legend of the waste disposal game pass away. But the way he treated my Mum and Dad was disgraceful . My Dad was a great mentor and friend to him in the early days ,but he stitched me Dad up big time. None of us forgive him . Hope he treated his family better . If you ever get to heaven ,mind out who you stitch up Tony .

What a cowardly act by you Gilbert ....If you've nothing good to say , couldn't you just stay quiet ? Maybe Tony saw something.....By god , but talk about the classic keyboard warrior ....

@@jb6319 if you knew the truth you'd have a different opinion of what happened. I could write a book on what went on with the double crossing snake. Before you criticise me, find out the facts mate. He was supposed to be a "business partner" but instead he was a snake. I don't normally speak Ill of the dead but he is an exception for the damage he caused.

Did your family have a yard on the A414 at the Hatfield Tunnel ?
@charliegilbert88736 ай бұрын
Correct mate.
@johnniethepom75456 ай бұрын
@charliegilbert8873 I stopped in that yard 30 years ago in a trailer with my family . Right near the water tank that was on top of the iron work . We stayed there 2 or 3 weeks , and for some reason I had an uneasy feeling, and we moved on . About three days later there was a huge storm, and the tank fell off the iron right where our caravan had been . The last time I saw your father was at Dave Smith's funeral, which I think was 2002 . In Australia now .
