Today was my first time using these and I implore everyone to avoid them. Commscope FOSC enclosures are easily twice as fast, plus the gasket included with the one I got doesn’t match this video so it doesn’t apply anyway! Thanks for nothing!

4:16 Say we are at D.20 and the RD is -1. abcdei will be output as 0,0,1,0,1,1. The running disparity will be -2,-3,-2,-3,-2,-1. I thought the 8b/10b code was said to prevent the RD, bit by bit, from ever going below -2 or above +2; yet in this case, it reaches -3.

i got what you mean. but i have a follow up question. This in referral to locating the cut portion. Does this apply to locating a cut in outdoor fiber op. you know rubber is thicker and thus more rigid than patch cables

Video should have showed the cleave angle you got in a splicer.. the s325a i have tosses cleaves from 3⁰+ down to .5⁰ not very consistent at all😢

This video gives a very simplistic view of 8b10b. As other comments already state, this approach does not work. Selection of the tables is more than just running disparity.
