I always preferred Vicki Komova, but Aliya was such as strong competitor who performed with such determination and perfection. Beam is not her event, but even her bars routine couldn't match Vicki's.

Interesting. She is better now after taking two years off at 26. If she stays healthy, next year she will be frightening. Haters can hate but nobody great ever became great by trying to be like the person before. Korbut was nothing like Tourischeva or Caslavska. Comaneci wasn't anything like Korbut, etc. Biles just became the best gymnast she could be and so far nobody still can touch her after 10 years.

It's changed a little since I did it as a kid in the 60's...as it should though since now it's an Olympic sport. Much more challenging. I remember they were just beginning to talk about and petition to have it added as a sports category in 'The Games'. Beautiful and amazing to see!

I soooooooo wish there would not have been that disagreement between he and Coach Hart in 08 or he would have been Olympic champion again in Beijing He was definitely on his way to something extraordinary especially after the 07 season Cuz he never was really the same again But still a TRUE DRUM MAJOR by every since of the word
