I would not recommend this board to a beginner because it is not that stable. I've been paddle boarding for several years now and I have a hard time balancing on it.

Looks like a direct rip off of the boards Isle developed. Looking at the website, there is very little information about the actual structure and construction of the board. It’s got a two year warranty Vs Isle’s five years.

Which Isle board are you referring to? I’m looking at their site and don’t see any that look like this GILI. The gili seems to have more options.

Anyone else have experience with the Sea Eagle rowing kit? I have seen alternatives that cost 5 times more for sculling packages with sliding seats and feathering oar locks. My main concern is the strength of the plastic "risers" for the oarlocks. How do these hold up and are they rigid? (Yes, the fixed oarlocks need to be lubricated every time!)

Actually, the only downside is not that it doesn’t have a carry bag. It has another pretty significant downside which is that it costs as much as some iSUPs, albeit cheap ones you shouldn’t buy. Still, it seems like it’s about double the price that it should be. At 79 bucks I’d buy in a heartbeat, but I can inflate by hand in about 7 minutes too, and the warmup isn’t the worst thing ever since I’m about to paddle. At least that’s how I rationalize it, though I am tired of inflating by hand if I’m honest.

So the remote isn't triggered... If you fall off the leash turns off the system... What happens if you're in motion and drop the paddle?

Would you recommend this board for touring trips? I'm looking something that I can take for long touring trips as well as the occasional race (i.e. Seventy48) I'm between this one and Bluefin 14' Sprint. Thanks!

Great review, I’m looking for a SUP board for my fiancé. She’s a beginner and stands at 5’3” I was told that this board is good for smaller paddlers her size? Also is it possible to fit two people on this board? Thank you

Did you try this pump on a Bote? I used my new shark ll and the valve doesn't seem to fit correctly and it disconnects when the pressure hits about 3 psi.

Very glad I found this video -- I had this same pump (ordered via amazon) and got a lemon. It was taking >12 mins to inflate a 10'6 NSP board. Got a direct replacement so i'm glad to hear its approx 7-8 mins for each board. Thank you for this informative video again!

What's this like vs the Scoprega pumps (Bravo GE 20), noise wise and speed wise.
@ISUPworld
@ISUPworld 3 жыл бұрын
I find the Shark pump a little faster but equally as noisy. Haven't found a quieter one yet that is powerful enough to inflate a board to 15 PSI. Once they hit that high pressure mode the noise really kicks in.

Just for reference I have a Blackfin V (12'6" x 32" x 6", 259L). This pump hit 10psi at about 7.5 minutes, 12.8 psi at 10 minutes and a full 15psi at 12 minutes. I am using the NOCO Boost HD (GB70, 2000A) Truck Battery Booster with the included 12v out to power the pump and used less than 2 bars of the battery. This allows me also to pack it in to a remote lake we like to visit.

How is it attached to an inflated sup board without damage? Is it fixed to a board by strapping through D rings??
@kimberlyevans9160
@kimberlyevans9160 Жыл бұрын
I would say that moving seats are common in competition vessels, such as you would see in the Olympics, and on rowing workout machines. Wooden rowboats tend to have fixed wooden seats, and this SUP adaptation appears to have a fixed seat, too. I wonder how much the stability would diminish if the seat moved on the SUP version. It would allow you to use your legs more.

Thanks for reviewing the Sea Eagle Universal QuikRow Kit for Kayaks and SUPs Boats. I have used mine on a Sea Eagle kayak. You're absolutely right about the optional footrest, and I would recommend it for inflatable kayaks, too; I think it should be considered an essential item and made part of the package vs. something extra. I can see making the Scotty rod holders an optional item for folks who just want to row and aren't into fishing. Two issues I've had so far with the QuikRow kit: 1. Since I don't have the footrest yet, I put my feet down on either side of the center piece which is metal and which ends up digging into my leg above the ankle. Ouch! 2. The oarlocks squeak with each stroke. The water fowl look interested (or maybe amused??). I'm hoping that some WD-40 will help the next time I take the kayak out.
