Thanks! This Cornell Rambler 15 combo is in third place on the infamous list of amps I regret I have sold. Only beaten by my original Marshall 1968 Superbass plexi and a Lazy J20 I used to own.

Hello! I'm looking at buying a 65 Marquee head, is it capable of cleaning up? Meaning can you get a chimey clean sound out of it with a Gibson ES 335 or Fender Strat...or is it mainly a head with lots of gain? Any info you can offer would be great. The one i'm looking at is excellent condition at a great price and i already have the 2x12 blue line cabinet with celestion gold and G12 Anniversary.

Ohh, 8 years ago this video, so I`m having a hard time remembering details. But I think this amp is the "high power" version, and the high power ones have a pretty high clean headroom. So its no gain machine this, its more of a clean platform perfect for pedals. So with a strat I`m pretty sure you will get a chimey clean out of it, and with the 335 it will still be clean, but maybe not so chimey due to the darker voicing of the 335. Mighty fine amplifiers all of the 65 amps collection. The blue line is handwired and loaded with quality military components. I`ve done a lot of testing with different speaker configurations, and the blue/greenie combination often used in the 65 amps cabs are what you need. And not by accident, Dan Boul and Peter Stroud knew what they were doing for sure. I highly recommend 65 amps!

Jeg vet at jeg kjøpte den brukt, men det er så mange år siden at jeg ikke husker av hvem. Tipper den var ett par år gammel når jeg fikk tak i den, og det er 99,9% sikkert at den ble solgt ny fra Vintage gitar til første eier (ennå mens VG var i Kristiansund).

@@MariJu1ce Det er vel KT88 rør som står i RSA23, og jeg vil ikke kalle de spesielt chimy. Tja, høres jo ut som at din vintage AC30 burde levere optimal chimy lyd. Jeg har hatt både Matchless og egentlig alt det andre. Jeg har aldri funnet meg til rette med Matchless, synes de spiller altfor høyt til bruket mitt. Jeg hadde en Morgan DC20 til låns en gang. Husker at den var heftig chimy. Selv er jeg mest glad i 6L6 og EL34 rør. Synes de håndterer pedaler best. Men det er nå bare min mening om det. Etter at jeg oppdaget Kemper sluttet forsterker jaget mitt. Men det er vel sikkert utenfor poenget. Husk at høyttaler er alfa omega. En alnico blue vil alltid være mer chimy enn G12 greenbacks.

J20 set to breaking point using the power scalingsystem, then the Plexi drive with the gain knob around 12 o`clock. Sounds amazing.

Well, the hole point with this demo was to show off the amp, the workability of the Alex attenuator, and not at least the Scumback speakers. So its was fully intended that the backing track was in the......back!? Can you dig it?

Hei Andreas! Det er sikkert bare meg, men jeg opplever youtube som utrolig rotete på personlige innstillinger. Jeg finner rett og slett ikke ut av hvordan jeg sender deg en pm - sorry! Når det gjelder modden så vet jeg lite om den. Det var Marshall-ekspert Roe Fremstedal som gjorde modden i sin tid. Begynner å bli en 5-6 år siden det nå. Du finner Roe på facebook, eller på "The Gear Page" som "Roe", eller på Metroamp sitt forum som "Roe". Denne ampen gikk forresten til Sverige etterhvert. Hvor den er nå aner jeg ikke, trolig fremdeles i Sverige. Det var en herlig amp. Lykke til!

Is it me or do you have the speaker phase different on some of the amps. I know there is some phasing from the guy moving the camera/mic... but I am hearing phase differences.

Great demo, sir! The Alex Attenuator is now the Scumback DBL. I took over this product years ago (2013). I added on a second speaker jack, higher temperature teflon wiring, and a new faceplate and easier to see knobs to dial in your tone. All to make a good attenuator even better. It says Alnico 2 on the site... sounds a lot more raunchy than the Antiquities.
