What would you do if challenging person tried to grab you or may cause harm to you?
@Moyadeyemi20 күн бұрын
In such situations you’ve got to protect yourself if someone tries to grab you you move away ensure the environment the person is safe if that is possible before leaving the place and call for help if the person is getting really aggressive and also record and report it as soon as possible
@Moyadeyemi20 күн бұрын
I said if that is possible because some people could get really aggressive that you might be trying to clear their environment and that could cause them to hit you in the process so you need to do a risk assessment. Most of the time you should have known your client by reading their care plan and when you find yourself in such situations that would help you make the right judgment

Hi Sis, can you recommend any recognized certifications that I can do in support. I want to do a certification that can boost my chances of getting a support work please 🙏
@opheliamaples26 күн бұрын
Where are you living? Speaking from experience, in Australia you can study a free TAFE course called "Certificate III in Individual Support". That will give you qualifications to start working as a care assistant in residentials or community services workplaces, or in clients' homes. After the Certificate III in Individual Support, you can go on to study further for the "Certificate IV in Disability Support" if you want to. This will open up more career opportunities such as being an integration aide.

You really don’t need a certification but I’ll recommend NVQ 2 or 3 in health and social work

Hello thank you for this video. Please i want to ask, where can i apply for these jobs and what training i need to take before i can get these kind of jobs. Please can you share links? Thanks so much
@opheliamaples26 күн бұрын
As a support worker you can be employed by a range of private, commercial or government employers, and work in a diverse range of places from private homes to residential or community care facilities. Example, in clients' homes, aged-care residential facilities, retirement/lifestyle villages, or government programs I am in Australia. Here, it is possible to get a entry-level job as a support worker without qualifications and then get the qualifications via traineeship while you're working. However getting the employment in the first place is difficult. Most people study and get their qualifications first to boost their employment opportunities. In Australia, we need to complete a "Certificate III in Individual Support". There are several institutions (TAFE) that offer this study course. After completion, you can start working in the industry with this qualification. If you want to boost your career, you can move onto studying for further qualifications in disability support and ageing support. And if you really want to, you can even utilise this study pathway to get a diploma in nursing and then hopping over to a university to obtain a bachelors in nursing to become a registered nurse. .

I’ll still do a video about this but just to summarise personally I believe working more shift to get more money is kinda like a mind scam especially if the job role is not a life goal /dream job you want to be working in forever. The extra hours could be invested in adding value to oneself towards the life goal or dream job you’re pursuing

Moy is Luton a good place for new carer from Nigeria?
@Moyadeyemi4 ай бұрын
Hmmm I’ll say yes I lived in Luton for a year. Luton is okay but personally I will say it’s not the best especially if you have kids. Personally I wouldn’t raise my kids in Luton. But if you’re just relocating it’s a good place to start. There lots of different nationalities there majorly Asians and Africans

This video makes lots of sense. Please do support workers actually bath patients or you only prepare the bathroom and make it ready for them to use? Thank you
@opheliamaples26 күн бұрын
It depends on what the client needs or wants. It's personalised care. Some clients want to do some bathing/showering tasks for themselves and only want help with tasks they can't do. And some need help with the entire process.
