When residents' bills are going to stop paying, the infrastructure of the water district is already 8 years paying. It's terrible that bills are increasing in the case of leaks in homes. When the user doesn't know it has a leak. Remove all the fees from our bills. Commodities in our bill. Also, the increase in homes and builders building homes close to each home is more water use. No yards, no space. Why is Las Vegas building more homes? When there is no water and no rain.

Thanks to continuously evolving conservation codes (new homes will not have grass in their front or backyards, etc) and the fact that nearly all water used indoors in Southern Nevada is recaptured, treated and returned to the Colorado River for credit, new development has little impact on our water resources while still providing our community with a significant economic benefit. You can learn more on the Southern Nevada Water Authority's website at www.snwa.com/water-resources/conservation-initiatives/index.html.

Why never Sunday?
@theLVVWD

Mandatory watering days and groups exist to balance water distribution across the valley, and Sunday has never been an assigned watering day for any water customers of any water service providers. When watering restrictions were implemented and put into municipal codes, Sunday watering was officially banned as a result. Learn more about watering days and groups at www.snwa.com/conservation/change-your-irrigation-clock/index.html

*You Guys should find a way to collect as much water as possible from tropical storm Hilary. A hurricane rarely passes through Las Vegas area. We want our local water authority to be efficient & proactive so, that we can use water like years ago.* 🌊🌩🌬

What you're talking about is managed by the municipal and regional water reclamation and flood districts, not LVVWD. But thanks to their efforts as well as the Las Vegas Wash, storm water is funneled back to Lake Mead for our community's use.

My faucets are damaged because of the hard water. What is the white residue in our water? Why is our water so hard? Is the water safe to drink? Real time water use should be changed to clean water for a better quality without leaving the hard chemicals. When our faucets are destroyed by hard water, customers should be concerned about our drinking water. Investigate the water authority about our water quality in Las Vegas. Residential properties can't use so much water. Schools, government and big casinos. Why are the water authorities using Lake Mead? Our city grew so much and we should blame the housing authority for building in a desert area without consideration. Maybe a lawsuit helps stop building homes.

Southern Nevada has hard water because our supply comes from the mineral-rich Colorado River, however, the water supply meets or surpasses all federal Safe Drinking Water Act standards. You can learn more at hard water and water quality in Southern Nevada at www.snwa.com/water-quality/facts/index.html#Accordion5 We also encourage you to visit www.snwa.com/water-resources/responding-to-drought/index.html to learn the facts about water use by sector in Southern Nevada, and how all sectors are working together to conserve water. At that link you can also read more about the conservation programs and building codes that have been in place for decades that have allowed Southern Nevada to grow without using more water.

The "white residue" you're seeing is likely caused by hard water. Water is considered hard when it contains a high level of dissolved minerals. In the Las Vegas Valley, our water comes from the mineral-rich Colorado River, and the two nontoxic minerals that cause our hard water are calcium and magnesium. Installing a water softener may help with your aesthetic concerns, but hard water does not pose a health risk, and Southern Nevada's water supply meets or surpasses all federal Safe Drinking Water Act standards. You can learn more at www.snwa.com/water-quality/facts/index.html#Accordion5 New golf courses are banned in Southern Nevada, and existing courses are required by state law to remove all nonfunctional grass by the end of 2026. Golf courses have already removed more than 900 acres of grass through the SNWA's Water Smart Landscapes program. As it stands today, golf uses less than 6% of our community's water and that number is expected to continue to decrease in the future as their already strict water budgets are being further slashed and as they continue to remove grass. Here’s more info about golf course water use: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oshgZqWIsN-Wg58.html.

How about start charging casinos and large businesses who actually consume most of the water instead of working class folks
@theLVVWD

We work with every sector in the community to ensure efficient use of the water supply. Casinos make up 6% of our community's water use, compared to the 60% used by residents. Casinos are able to have such a small water footprint because nearly 100% of water used indoors is recycled. That means anything that goes down the drain in hotel rooms, restaurants, etc. gets returned to Lake Mead. Most outdoor water features, like the Bellagio fountains, use nuisance groundwater and not a drop of our community's Colorado River water. Here's more info about casino water use: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kNKon9GE2LrIfGQ.html
