Mandatory watering days and groups exist to balance water distribution across the valley, and Sunday has never been an assigned watering day for any water customers of any water service providers. We work with every sector in the community to ensure efficient use of the water supply. Casinos make up 6% of our community's water use, compared to the 60% used by residents. Casinos are able to have such a small water footprint because nearly 100% of water used indoors is recycled. That means anything that goes down the drain in hotel rooms, restaurants, etc. gets returned to Lake Mead. Most outdoor water features, like the Bellagio fountains, use nuisance groundwater and not a drop of our community's Colorado River water.
