In the UK, we call Canola, Oil Seed Rape, or just "Rape" awful word, Canola is much better.
@andyhutch82623 жыл бұрын
2012 was our bad year for rain in the UK, corn harvest was stop and go affair, combines and tractors needed pulling out, but far worse was to come, we are aformost potato growers, not a big concern like north America, around 1200 acres of barley/wheat and 650 acres of potato's, every harvester got stuck, 3 in all, one a self propelled, the other 2 tractor drawn, on a good day! tractor trailer operator did 4 loads to the grader, with these 4 loads was 75%mud/soil, 10% rotten potato's, 5% stock feed (small) and rest for the store, those 4 loads were hard got as you got stuck fast up to your bollocks every time, JD crawler was kept very busy, as for northern lights, all we saw was a dark miserable night, we worked 12 to 14 hour days, 7 days a week, in the end, boss thru the towel in on first of the frosts, 35 acres got ploughed in the following spring.

Gorgeous footage and nice camera work! Perhaps your intent is to just show the beauty of your farm and farming activities, but I think your Channel would have more opportunity and appeal if you were to VLOG about yourself, your farm, your history, the crops and equipment, etc. I believe myself to be fairly representative of KZfaq consumers that like to learn while we are being entertained by great footage like yours. I’m sure you’ve seen the success of channels like Northern Farmer, south sask Farmer and Sonne (which is how I found your channel). Those guys do a great job of story-telling. But if you are just into showing cool footage, I get that too! It’s cool! And you have a beautiful farm! Kudos.
@stefansfarmvideos43015 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, Thanks a lot for your feedback. I agree with you, I like watching most of all channels like Sonne Farms, Cole the Cornstar, Millennial Farmer, Welker Farms etc., as its pretty cool to listen to those guys. It´s super impressive what those guys are doing. The issue is, I can´t see how I can find the time to actually do it, and come up with a VLOG. But I have time to fly my drone once in a while or stick my gopro to a piece of equipment, and make a video every few weeks/months. So I guess thats the way I will keep going...at least for now.

We drove from TN (USA) to Alaska this past September and as a small scale beef farmer I was amazed and in aw at the size and cleanliness/neatness of the farms that all you Canadians have. I wanted so badly to just stop the truck and ask to climb in the cab with some of you guys. The "home places" (I guess you would call them) that I could see from the interstate all seemed to be so neat and clean and the machinery was exceptionally clean. I don't recall seeing a single dirty tractor or implement.
