I'm struggling with major puppy blues. I lost my dog of 15 years and just got a new pupoy. However, after 3 weeks I'm thinking it was a huge mistake. In retrospect, I realized this was just a vein attempt to replace my old dog. Now I'm afraid I've ruined both of our lives.

So with the bleach sanitation, my puppy is pooping almost water looking stuff so I can’t pick it up at all. We just went to the vet today and he’s been dewormed but is it safe to use bleach out on the grass if he’s going to keep going out there for the bathroom?

My lord. A MONTH of this? My girl is only 9 months and the vet recommended she goes through 1 heat cycle but this has been incredibly frustrating having to clean blood every other hour. She rips the diapers off or chews on them until their hanging on. I don’t like my own cycle, let alone my pets. Sorry, end rant.

My dog is currently in heat and I understand your frustration. I found stretchy pants at PetSmart that had Velcro fasteners around the hips and used human pantiliners (Carefree) in them. My girl leaves them alone and has gotten good about me taking them off and on when going outside. I crate her at bedtime and don’t bother with them until she’s been outside after she gets up in the morning. I have 2 weeks to go and will be glad when it’s over! I’m scheduling her spay 2-3 months after she’s back to normal, hallelujah…..

During my old job overnight shift 10 hours, my dog have her own potty pad. I always replace it before I leave for work. She is doing alright. She sleeps at the most time. She happy to see me and she knew it’s her breakfast time lol

This should be known to all dog owners that they don't only clean up harder types of poo they should automatically have something to clean all types of poo on them I said to a lad 1 day are you cleaning that up an all I got bk from him was it's liquidy an soft as though it's ok to leave if it's like this I said yh but it's still dog crap on pavement an it got heated argument straight away saying how the fuck is he supports to clean it i sad he should either not fetch it out if had diarrhea or fetch out cleaning stuff thats appropriate to clean it up but no alot of abuse and I retaliated to am I the bad guy here no I'm not u plonker sort your head out an sort your dog CRAP OUT

My puppy came with a vet check and letter from that vet. We were on a 3 hour trip home from where we picked her up. I've had her home 2 days now. Today makes day 3 I'm mixing her food with some puppy food I got. She's very active though and goes regular. She's a 9 week old Cocker Spaniel. Idk if that matters or not. She has been dewormed and her 2 or 3 rounds of shots (I have to look but I think it's 2) I know it's not parvo. I've had parvo puppies and I have worked around them when I worked in the clinic. That's something YOU KNOW and DO NOT forget. She eats and drinks really well. So idk the loose soft stool isn't affecting her. It just bothers me bc it's not a semi solid form.

feed your puppy at a strict schedule so that they start to poop only at a certain times of the day. choose 3 times of the day to feed them and stick with those times. make sure not to feed them right before bed. so yes food needs to be restricted during the night

I have 3 huskies, and need to start working full time, I work days and nights, average about 8 or 9 hours. I can't afford most doggy day cares because Id be working just for their daycare. We need more affordable and convenient options, for pet care, so humans and their pets alike, dont end up on the streets.

What about when you stand up, if they continue to bite and attack your clothes. We have tried the OW! method, and this seems to make him more angry/initiate more play and continue to do it. We stand up and walk away, and he lunges at our buts and back of legs. What do we do??!!

Why not talk about the fact that dogs are not solitary animals. They are pack animals. When living as pets, the owner and family are their pack. It can actually be very bad mentally for dogs to be left home alone for more than a few hours a day even with a break in the middle. Sure, food and water and the ability to relieve themselves are important, but so is their mental comfort. If you live in a situation where your dog is going to be left home alone for more than 5-6 hours a day total, get 2 dogs, a dog walker, a doggy day care or just adopt a cat instead.

I was going to adopt a 4 year old dog this Tuesday 2024 but I was thinking as much as I fell in love with him, its not fair for him to come home with me. I work 10 hour days plus 2 hours one hour going and coming back, so 12 hours total. It is not fair to the dog that I am gone that long, no real good bonding time with my schedule Mon-Thur. So I took my name off the raffle list and my prayer is he goes to a good loving home and gets lots of attention. Maybe one day I will have a dog but its not in the cards right now. Peace

When my puppy is in the crate he will pee at random times of the night and then whine to let me know he peed. If he sleeps with my wife in her bed he just sleeps thru the night until morning and we take him out. I want him to sleep in the crate tho and dont know what to do. Hes 8 weeks.

I have 2 dogs, one 2 years old and one 4. They sleep in the same bed and as soon as i wash there bed they will pee in it and keep doing it until its saturated. They have areas here they can pee while im at work such as puppy mats but still do it in the bed. Any suggestions?

hey I don't know if you fixed the problem yet but if not, I might have a solution. 1. They should not have access to pee in the house AT ALL. Not pee pads or a bed. If you are gone for a long period of time they should be in their crate. separately. So they are aware that when they pee, it is uncomfortable. 2. Whenever you are home, If your dogs KNOW that they cannot potty on your floor or any furniture and they still do, then take away their bed. Even after washing the bed, they can possibly still smell the pee, making them WANT to pee on the bed. Therefore, you should just get rid of the bed all together. If they can hold their pee overnight, then let them use the bed. 3. Get your dogs on a schedule. No dog of any age should be holding their bladder or bowels for more than 8 hrs. If they are holding their pee. PUT THEM IN THEIR CRATES. If your dogs are peeing in their bed until it's saturated that's a huge issue, especially if they're doing it within a day, even within a week. 4. Giving your dogs something to look forward to can help stop the peeing. If your dogs pee on the bed, they don't get to go on a walk etc. You should give your dogs something to look forward to. But again TAKE AWAY the puppy pads AND the bed. They are associating these things with the bathroom. 5. After taking away their bed and pads, you might want to start rewarding them when they use the bathroom outside again. If they ever pee in your home again, tell the no with authority and have them go to their crate. I walk my dog 2 times a day (morning before his first meal & evenings 2 hours after his last meal) I have noticed that he hold his pee more. If he ever pees in his crate before I take him out, I don't take him out. 6. Have BOTH of your dogs on a SCHEDULE. If any or both of your dogs pee before or during your designated time to take them out, they don't get to go outside until the next designated time.

Sorry MOST aggression issues are the result of humans NOT doing the work to train their dog. Or to exercise it enough. You can't just want a cute puppy or breed dogs but not put the work in. Don't get a dog if you work 24/7 and you do not have time for your animal. I have seen it alot. Dogs are unsocialised, aggressive, pull so hard on a leash they nearly dislocate your arm. And owners are like yeah we want to breed the dog. I know you earn money off the breeding but if you can't train your dog, do not be so DAMN selfish. Because it is not really about the dog you kind of care for, it is about money. It is not cool. Pet hate of mine. I love animals but because i am at work full time and am not home much, i choose not to have a pet as it would make them suffer. Generally the dogs have issues because the owners do the wrong thing. Train the owner not the dog. Sorry about the rant, people ignore it until something bad happens and then its the dogs fault and the dog gets put down. Take responsibility. You want the pet. Put the work in.

Mine won't eat his food or treats, so I can't use them to train him. He's not injured and there's no clear reason why he's doing it to me. The only thing I can come up with is that he doesn't like it when I remove him from a situation. Today, he snarled and growled after we went bye bye in the car and I was trying to pick him up to take him back into the house. Ten month old Chihuahua.
