RIP Judy - always loved her vocals. Obviously, she was not the singer she was when she performed this - but her original version of this song is the definitive one for me - surpassing that by "King Crimson".

Pete's voice is a cross between Ian Hunter and Lemmy! It really works on rock'n'roll songs like Too Hot to Handle. RiP.

There's no doubt in my mind that Paul Rodgers is a gift from God! And I believe that God works through him! Wonderful musician, artists, And Wright's wonderful lyrics and sing so smooth that it makes you feel like you're in heaven on Earth! May God keep on blessing you Paul so that God can keep on blessing us through your music! ❤❤❤

Reid was the best rock singer in England in the late 60s. It’s a shame fame eluded him, I hope he’s enjoyed his career anyway. The musicians know and admire him.

Ugh.... the reformation no one wanted... and whose libertarian views on taxation no one wanted to hear... let alone set to music... dreadful on so many levels.
@sighkid5 ай бұрын
Never very impressed by people who feel the need to state (twice!) that everyone in the world agrees with them. Even in the unlikely event that it was actually true, it seems to show a lack of faith in one's own opinion. If you don't think your opinion alone is worth hearing then why should anyone else? But anyway, as for the song, if you actually look at the lyrics it's clearly about not wanting to pay taxes if they're going to be used to fund overseas wars. I don't really see that as a libertarian position (which would be to say that taxes are a bad thing in general.) I take this song as being in the main about Ukraine, and I can't agree with Crispian over that as I think in this instance it's money well spent. But I could come up with a long list of recent wars the UK has spent millions on that I did object to bankrolling, so I can't in all honesty disagree with the general point here.

@omumbeejumbeesure you can't change it but you can still get angry about it though. And quite possibly should do (though maybe not about Ukraine specifically.) I went on some of the Stop The War marches over Iraq years ago, I didn't go because I expected doing so to change anything (and sure enough it didn't) but because I wanted very strongly to say that it wasn't being done in my name. Anyway I take this song in the same spirit.
