This heatsink is on default by manufacturer (ASUS). I am not sure if you can find same. I searched little and i did not find similar. Must be exactly the same

Pump can be connected on CPU_OPT (CPU Fan/Water Cooling Pump Header and on SYS_FAN4_PUMP (System Fan/Water Cooling Pump Header).

BEWARE BUYERS: If you have a 2023 Rog Zephyrus, particularly the M16... these are incredibly finicky with 990 pro. It's been a common problem. Windows wont acknowledge it's there even though its discoverable in the BIOS. Tried a dozen different solutions... some more useful than others... but its still finicky at best. Bite the bullet and go for the 850x if you have this laptop.

I was surprised to find only a single 1mm pad on the whole card under that heatsink. I use tooth brush with mild soap and water and blow dry with air. So simple compared to the last 2 AMD cards I did. I'm thinking of adding a light strip to it. Thanks for sharing how you did yours.Liked and subbed.

I just follow the instructions. I think the only reason to use these rings is for color protection not to be damaged from screws. So if you want don't use them

Good video, except CR2032 are not rechargeable! You need one with enough energy still stored, and if that's not the case, you get a new one.

Hi my friend! If you check video better the battery is from desktop motherboard and is rechargable. I test this build many days and bios settings never lost.

@@pctechbuild40 I'm sure it worked, but if(!) the battery is a CR2032 it can't be recharged, so it worked because it still had energy left, and not because the PSU recharged it. I really doubt motherboards would have charging circuits to the battery since that would damage any regular CR2032.

@@exscape Yes this can happen but it is a fast fix if you don't have the same battery. If you order new you have time to wait for new battery to come. That is what i did. I had to wait some days for battery to come. Thanks for your comment

But I ended up deciding to go with it and my 990 pro arrived yesterday, I didn't install it yet. Thank you for helping me with this choice, man!

Now I have tested it well. No problems with heat. It stays 9 ~ 10°C above my gen 3 SSD, about 38 ~ 40°C. The laptop has a metal plate for heatsink, and its thermal pad doesn't cover the whole 990, only the controller, which is what generates more heat. Normal temps, no reason to worry

Am I dumb if I'm leaning more towards the SN850x ? I know that the 990 Pro is faster but the difference ain't that much and after all the BS I've been reading and hearing about Samsung I'm starting to think the SN850x might be a wiser choice ?? Anyone???

Sometimes is about luck. I think both of them are so close. In my case WD in 1 month use lost 1% of health. It is possible to not lose any % after 10 years and Samsung damage in the same period but can happen the opposite. These 2 are very close

I’m in the same boat as you. I bought a SN850X but still considering the 990 Pro. The Samsung degradation issues are concerning. Mine will be a primary OS drive and my most played games. I think both of them are so damn close in performance that you would never notice a difference. So with that said, my train of thought is maybe the smartest thing to base this on is reliability / durability which right now in my eyes points towards Western Digital.

i wonder how these SSDs perform, when they are filled with 3TB of data already. I got some M.2 from other brands and they perform very well, but if i put 3TB data on them, the performance massively drops.

I think all ssd drop performance under these conditions but i never tested seagate firecuda. It is one of the best and corsair also.
