Having honesty and integrity as a surgeon/person should be more important than the potential risks involved in taking on complicated difficult cases. Imposter syndrome is the direct result of gaslighting a patient who you know is suffering and would benefit from surgery but you refuse to do it because of the potential risk. Having integrity means advocating for your patient, taking the time to review scans and following up in a manner that offers them a resolution or at minimum a compassionate action plan that encourages healing & comfort rather than passing the buck and kicking the can down the road. All the surgical skills in the world mean very little if at the end of the day you aren't a good human being.

This is really smart. I have been trying to search for a KZfaq video similar to yours that breaks down the topics in this vid! 🙌Your content totally is like the channel from Dr Ethan. Dr's explanations are insightful and he really helped me a lot on my exams. He is a helpful medical student in Nottingham. I recommend you check his KZfaq out and give the Dr a like! 👉 #MedicalStudentEthan
