I love this song... God loves and hears everyone. This song hits so hard for me. It's really sad how much some (definitely not all, most are good!) Christians will hate on different religions and lgbtq.

I’m remaining anonymous because being kind should be anonymous, and something we should never seek recognition for. I just saved the life of a homeless man who had OD’d. No one stopped to help but me, even though everyone deserves love. What I learned today is that it’s possible to feel love for complete strangers, and you should never ignore people if you are able to help them.

Makes me cry to this day because I am Romani, commonly called gypsy but trust me when I say don't call us that. Anyway, it makes me cry because my pa taught me my peoples history, and I know of what they went through as I have gone through it myself not as extreme but bigotry none the less. While I watch her sing I remember God's promises and my lamentation turns to joy. Makes forget hate.

This song actually makes me so emotional. Today the world is so selfish. We make things more convenient for selfish reasons. We think of ourselves and don't consider others. I struggle with this world everyday because I was brought up to think of others. I was brought up to think of others before myself. It pains me when others do not. And it warms my heart deeply when I see people going out of their way to help others. Like my partner for example came home one day from a hard day at work but as he was driving home with all the work boys he noticed someone on a bridge over an express way. All the boys moaned because my partner pulled over. But he stopped him from jumping and he has a letter from the police thanking him for what he did. He's a great man and that's why I love him. He has such a big heart but he uses it when it's needed. Where as I have mine on my sleeve

I was seven. I saw Lion King and Pocahontas in the theater on my fifth and sixth birthdays, respectively. But the first moment I know I was living in the moment I saw it for the first time was this song in 1996. Everybody just knows their first moment of appreciation and love of movies, just sort of GETTING IT. And for me, it was this song. It struck such a chord on my personality. If you saw it too, take care and courage. The world needs love like this now and very soon.

This is one of the most powerful songs from Disney in singing, melody, and messaging. She was literally speaking to Mother Mary.

So many "good Christians" (not all of them of course) seem to forget that Jesus specifically spoke to those who were at the bottom of the social hierarchy and not to the self-important religious elites of the time. And yet oh so many who pride themselves "Christians" spit on those whom they consider unworthy and not part of the good society.

After listening to this song so many times, i cant help but say its an amazing songs. A masterpiece in my eyes. Listening to it more just gives me more to love about it. Like the contrast of Esmerelda's prayer compared to the others. She doesnt even ask for anything for herself, she asks for God to help others, while on the other hand they prayed for glory and wealth. The contrast just adds way more to the song. Plus the added context and depth to the song if you actually watch the movie!

To be fair, we all are like the other people in the church sometimes. It’s just part of being human. The point of this song is if you want grow spiritually you need to keep a balance between asking for yourself and others and say “Not as I will but as You will.”

I'm an altar server at my church. And I find this song so touching and sweet :) I'm 34 and I'll be 35 next month. I've been altar serving since my teenage years. And along with church songs, I'm finding this song so sweet and emotional. Whoever was Esmerleda's singing voice. She was a wonderful singer :) I remember being her for Halloween when I was a kid :)

This song really captures how I feel about God and suffering. I really hope He’s there, and I really hope He steps in soon because we really don’t show the love we should to each other and we cause so much suffering.

I’m only ‘liking’ this right now because 1. Knot 🪢 to the bullying of one of my best friends who had kyphosis and was called a hunchback in high school… he also has an attractive face even though I’m not attracted to him. Yeah I’m a Catholic and I’d like to say that Esmeralda is correct. That’s what the Catholic faith should be. Those people praying are the opposite of what Catholics should be. There are people who make us look bad for all that we used to do, but really Catholicism is what she sings about. The Church these days does so much for the poor, the immigrants, the mentally ill, etc. I ask you to take the whole measure of the Church.
