Thank you! I'm a disabled crafter who counts on others to help with the leg work. Making eco-prints the traditional boiled way is something I've wanted to try, but couldn't because collecting the plant material and the actual soaking and boiling is time consuming and not something anyone at my house is willing to help me do. This is a much less intense process though, and I think I will be able to get some help to try it! I'm excited!

One is a mistake, a whole bunch is a technique. Love it! I really like the pages you submerged in the dye bath. I still wonder why my pages didn't work with the steam. Were your steamed paged wet when you put them in the steam bath? Thank you for the shout out, too.🌷🌷🌷

There used to be a web site (in the '80's maybe?) and you could order zines (usually copy paper folded in half) and they were All in black & white. The most expencive was maybe $1. And some coffee shops or little cafes would have some for free. They were usually stories and ilistrations of their lives which were mostly sad.

Thank you! Those came out beautiful - I have used Kool-Aid - food coloring and coffee dyed papers to Eco dye BUT lol One of my favorite things I did on a simple leaf Eco dye print was slow stitch around the leaf - That truly came out beautiful ❤❤ thanks again Shannon and enjoy your day! Xx

Just checking - you soaked the petals and leaves in the mordant water and then put them on pages that had also been soaked in mordant and dried?
@ShannonGreen2 күн бұрын
Most of these went on plain papers, no pre-treatment. But I have put untreated flowers on pretreated paper with good results so I think you could do it either way.

Can you use magazine pages with this lol??? I’d really like to use up my soft gel gloss medium and this looks so interesting not sure I have done this to where it actually comes out 😂😂.. got me thinking Is like to try this 😂😂.., 💜💜✌️

Yes you can! Sometimes I have to experiment with how many coats of medium to use but it’s totally doable with magazines.

My mojo has needed some serious help lately. I'm thinking painty papers might be on the agenda. They help me figure out what to do when i don't know that to do, also. It's funny how connected us artists are! I get in the mood for something and 5 other people make vids so i light the fire under my own ass to get things done!😂

It's actually kind of mesmerizing watching you clean and reveal the beauty. So the bundle is above the water level on the rack under the rock? Kinda sounded a bit like Dr. Suess, huh? All of your prints are lovely, Shannon. Thanks for sharing the "easy" way.

🤣 You can do it in a pot, you can do it on a yacht. 🤣 Yes that’s right…rock, bundle, rack, water.

How long do you soak the flowers in the Alum?

It doesn’t really matter. You can even just dip them instead of soaking.
