Ha! There will never be another Possum. I never played in his band but a few of my friends did. When God made George he threw the mold away.

When Johnny Cash was asked who his favorite country singer was, he said “you mean besides George Jones, right?” He was your favorite country singer’s favorite country singer. Jones didn’t write many songs, but he could interpret them better than anyone. In his autobiography he talks about how he imagined himself in the lyrics’ story while singing, which definitely contributed to how much emotion pours through the microphone. He also said 95% of his recordings were done drunk haha but we all knew that 😉

This was a most enjoyable video. I tell you, I laughed, I cried, I sang and, I danced in 17 min. Wow, your genuine passion for music and Billy Strings, in this instance is quite moving my friend. The way you told his story was breath taking. Also, the tone of your voice is wonderful! Thank you for making and sharing this jewel! Speaking of Jewels, I would love if you told us the story of the beautiful singer Jewel! Thanks again!

George Jones will always and forever be the king of country music and if you don't believe that you kiss my ass... And he stopped loving her was the saddest country music song in history and if you don't believe that you can kiss my ass... At the end of the day Mr Jones in my opinion and millions others opinion is the greatest if not the best country music singer ever... And if you don't believe that you can kiss my ass

I loved your video! I found it very informative. I actually think he is my cousin. I have been researching him on and off for about a year now. Though I am a full time student and am working so my research has stalled. I love his folk music and voice. I love his story telling in his songs. My Grandparents were born in Kentucky and we have a Childers Cemetery in Beattyville, KY. We have a family Meetin there with a service on the Hill and then memorialize our loved ones and then go down the hill and have a luncheon. It would not be unreasonable to be a very distant cousin to him. I believe we are both dscendants through Abraham Childers. Thank you for sharing anyways!

Long violent History is a fantastic social protest song done as gently, as reasonably as possible. Sad he knew a large portion of his audience is racist. Tyler had to resort to “ Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. The Golden Rule of our so- called Christian society, and he still got kickback. Hearing that brave, empathetic, wonderful song, and then to see the hateful comments was quite an experience. Also made it easy to see how a monster like Trump could end up in the White House.

He's really very special. He really is. Those first 2 albums have been really powerful to me and will stay with me. The pain and heartbreak and alcoholism.. You do not wish on anyone, but my god.. That era was so fricking deep and moving, relatable. Amazing. Im also from Lawrence county. So, there's another level there too. Cant wait to see him in Boulder in September

😢 I have no reason for writing this but to let you know I've know the pain of loss 💔 for a son I miss him so much no matter what I know. I'll see him again . The perfect words will never be simple enough but hearing from others by music 🎶 Vibration of love to a son ( for a mother ) nearly killed me. Thank you for your words 🙏 🙏 ❤ Never dies to Father's and mothers. Remember worthy love is ❤❤ thank goodness for you.

I can’t believe you didn’t note his outstanding rendition of one of my favorite songs of all time- John Fogerty’s “Joy of My Life”! Love his spin on it, keeping the intimacy and authenticity of the lyric and overall feel of the song (especially since John originally wrote it for/about his wife, Julie), but making it current and vibin’ ❤️🔥
