re: it should have just given 13 Unless it is doing recall (it has seen the answer sheet and is recalling it verbatim), bots need to think things through. They are already bad at math, discouraging them to not reason step by step worsens the chances that they can do math. And the bot should make an API call to Wolfram Alpha, which solves this with conventional methods, LLMs are the least efficient way to do math.

Will the grok model fit in one Tesla computer? Because if it doesn’t then inference can’t be run on teslas because I think LLM inference can’t be parallelized so that chunks are processed in parallel.
@OctavioHerreraGuardiola2 сағат бұрын
Also, you need faster speeds for inference otherwise a slow inference speed will reduce the use cases of the LLM

I love Tesla. I love Cybertruck. But this highly reflective mirror wrap should not be legal. It will cause sun reflection and blind people leading to an accident. It is also less visible and blend in the back ground.
@yesno95922 сағат бұрын
@KingLutherQ Not necessarily.. there are no reflective hotspots. All flat surfaces. If they are angled away from the viewer, then they won't reflect lights into other drivers eyes.
@KingLutherQСағат бұрын
@@yesno9592 That's ridiculous. Shiny things reflect headlights, sunlight and or any light. CT was not built with some kind of stealth technology optimized to reflect energy away from the source. It is optimized for good looks and low wind resistance. The last thing we need, is a CT blinding everyone in the freeway and causing an accident.

All Cybertrucks are illegal. They have sharp corners everywhere, Do they have 5 mph crash bumpers? NHTSA amended the bumper standard in May 1982, halving the front and rear crash test speeds for 1983 and newer car bumpers from 5 miles per hour (8 km/h) to 2.5 miles per hour (4 km/h), and the corner crash test speeds from 3 miles per hour (5 km/h) to 1.5 miles per hour (2 km/h).

Large, centralized inference servers and training compute clusters should be built with bespoke power and network services. Local power with generation and storage (SWB) avoids step-up transformers, transmission lines, and overloading existing power companies -- all vertically integrated by Tesla. Starlink can supply the network connections globally. Distributed inference can augment this set-up for small users.

So remind me why am I voting for Elon to get $50 Billion (dont get me wrong I am) when he is building X. A.I outside of the company that he is CEO of? Why is this not being built inside the company?
@craighill60342 сағат бұрын
As a public company he has no control over it! He could be sued if he doesn’t maximise returns for share holders, when he may want to choice the path for maximising AI safety.
@steve.k47352 сағат бұрын
@@craighill6034 Agreed on first bit BUT he is asking me to vote to give him 25% control. He could be sued makes zero sense Tesla will need a ChatGPT type interface anyway the car can`t just drive its got to take instructions from passengers and possibly emergency services, so building it IS maximising returns. He may want to maximise safety, see point 1 PLUS he is being paid 10s of Billions as CEO to maximise returns, he knows Tsla needs this why is he building it outside.

From the larger view, not just xAI, data center construction proposals are now at an all time high. Traditional location choice involves lowest likelihood of disasters and access to high speed fibre backbones. A relatively new constraint is the electrical utilities turning down requests for power. We are running out of it in various locations. One potential response is to choose a location hundreds of acres in size and install batteries with solar / wind. The property and improvement costs then become larger, although data centers already have among the largest UPS's in existence. Extreme reliability has always been one of the criteria due to the data centers being used for hosting others. In this particular case of AI development, it seems like that could be relaxed when one isn't taking thousands of businesses out due to an outage. 2N+1 systems are highly reliable, and would seem more than adequate for AI endeavors. As for arbitrage, the algorithms would need to consider the crazy quilt of electrical rates across the US. They are most definitely capricious in some circumstances. By example, I am located in an area where power at 3am in the morning is at the same rate as midday. Appropriate adaptation of Tesla's Autobidder logic seems to be in order.

I really must agree with DKIA and with others who also say this super "polishing" is a very bad idea! Invisible vehicles on the road are the very last things any driver or pedestrian would want to encounter, day or night. If any traffic officer or other LEO saw such a car on the road, IMO, it should be stopped and em-pounded and the driver ticketed.

I think you were too limited in your view of arbitraage. Surely, you should consider this on a worldwide basis with varying energy prices and inference demands moving round the globe as the day progresses. The cost of moving the data around is tiny in relation to the likely benefits.
@ash989814 сағат бұрын
That makes NO sense! Tesla and xAI are 2 different companies, as is SpaceX all having different investors, however if Tesla uses xAI, Tesla will have to pay for its usage of the xAI products. Elon never explained any relationship between XAI and Tesla, you are theorizing the outcome without any real information. For these xAI investors to get value from their investments xAI will have to sell xAI products- nothing can happen free between either company.
@737smartin2 сағат бұрын
I won't go as far as 'makes no sense,' but IMO there is a LOT of jumping to conclusions going on here.

Nah, they won’t outlaw it. Kirkham has been selling fully polished aluminum bodied Shelby Cobras for years and people have been wrapping cars with mirror wraps for almost as long. The only thing that will lead to this being outlawed is haters latching on to comments like yours just because it’s a Cybertruck and Elon = Bad. More realistically though, just like loud exhaust, tires sticking out past the fenders, no-right-on-red, and speeding… it’s all going to come down to an officers willingness to enforce whatever laws are passed.

AI Summary: The video talks about Tesla and xAI being a match made in heaven and why Tesla has an advantage over other AI companies. Dr. Know-it-all starts the video talking about a mirror polished Cybertruck and how it might be illegal because of the reflection it can cause. Then he moves on to the main topic, which is xAI and Tesla. xAI is a company that just announced a series B funding round of $6 billion. Their goal is to develop advanced AI systems that are truthful, competent, and beneficial for humanity. Tesla is spending billions of dollars on their AI program, and a big part of the cost is on the compute power needed to run the AI models. Once these AI models are trained, they need to be served to people through inference engines. This is where Tesla and xAI can benefit each other. Tesla has a lot of edge compute devices in their vehicles that are not being used when the vehicles are parked. xAI can use these devices to run their inference engines, which would be much cheaper than using traditional cloud-basedの方法 (fāngfǎ - method) because Tesla can arbitrage the energy costs. Tesla can use the battery in their vehicles to power the inference engines during peak hours and then charge the batteries back up during off-peak hours. This would be a big advantage for xAI because it would allow them to serve their AI models more inexpensively and widely than their competitors. In conclusion, the video talks about how Tesla and xAI are a perfect match because they can benefit each other. Tesla can provide cheap compute power for xAI to run their inference engines, and xAI can help Tesla stabilize the grid by using battery power from their vehicles.
