He got to do this twice. The loneliest place ever is a pitchers mound when you get rocked and give up 7 runs in the 1st before you get pulled. One of the most celebrated is getting the last strike of a championship game. Been thru both...

This movie is so great. More than the actors and story, I really appreciate the editing and music of these movies. The shot of the umpire getting into position to reveal Vaughan just as the music kicks up is amazing. It's details that you don't really know how much weight they're actually pulling if you don't notice them.

Thought what would have been a nice twist here like Taylor with the squeeze bunt in the first one would have been Ricky throwing a breaking ball that completely fooled Parkman.

Given the timing of the movie, the name & his temperament, always thought Jack Parkman had to be in part based upon real life MLB slugger Jack Clark.

Vaughn reminds me of Denny McClain. Dennis had two speeds; fast and faster. He was the last 30 game winner anybody will see.
