Soft pastel have a pure powder pigment, intense and rich vibrant colors.perfect for shading and area coverage that many artist use it but the problem is that it's so easy to crumble and dusty but easy to blend and it's so hard to master and it's not for beginners Oil pastel have a creamy consistency hard binder with wax,oil and pigment and less to break not like soft pastel and perfectly for beginners and artist it has a oil looking painting finish......BUT I LITERALLY CHOOSE SOFT PASTEL AND IT'S DEFINITELY THE WINNER

Bro you don't know how to use them properly i have been using oil pastels from 4 3 years and correct way of blending it is by using tissue paper remember tissue paper not paper napkin and i have not used soft pastels till but i have know that first you have to spread the powder of colours then blend it with fingers

I don't know why I said this but i have both of these. ( Camlin ) 50 shades of oil pastels and 36 of soft pastels. In my opinion, both of these have their own style of art but soft pastels blend more smooth easily while some pressure is needed for oil pastels.
