I made one where I could select if the left side is going to be open or grounded with a switch. It makes some difference in behavior. Then a short coax to an ICOM 705, and it seems to work fine on lower frequencies like 40 and 80m, but the loop probably has to be larger to improve the sensitivity a bit.

Hello! Can you perhaps help me out with this keyer? Did you have to install a certain driver? I have two Winkeyers...they both work fine under PC control with BOTH N1MM and ACL. But this one does not. I suspect the driver is incorrect.

so have you tried your model? i personally rather connect both side of the coil to each end, then use a aligator clip lead to "short" a section of the coil. i wish i had the material and equipment to make the slider.

Steve I always cut my Dielectric right back level with the braid as if it was going to be soldered, the dielectric is a larger diameter than the central pin so there's no chance of a short. By doing it my way there is much less of a impedance bump according to my vna readings. I only do this with the larger diameter coax though.

Diffs and any other gear assembly is supposed to have a certain amount of play and backlash. Especially when it is using grease, instead of gear oil bath. If your gears mesh too well, the grease would be gone in just a few revolutions.

Do you have any experience with injora customer support? I have, they blacklisted me from buying anything at their store on ebay. I complained about some bad quality aluminum beadlocks wheels the sold me. Blacklisted for life, they sold me something that literally broke during mounting. I've got several screws that's just holding on with locktite. Gmade, xtraspeed, and boom racing stuff made out of cheap pot metal has been much more durable than injora aluminum. They used really soft aluminum and short screws on my wheels.
